    What are the ingredients?

    • +17

      They’re delicious

      • I guess if you like sugar, they are…

      • -1

Worst bun for burgers though, they just fall apart and you end up holding on to a saucy, cheese-covered patty.

        • +4

I thought the same, till I toasted it lightly and that worked out better.

          • +1

@reilu: Even better - get a hot pan, mix some butter and herbs, spread it on the buns and chuck it on the pan.

        • Try out less in them.

        • +1

Best thing to chuck pulled pork on.

It’s a fine art my friend

        • +1

:O Brioche buns are my fave for burgers. Yum yum. The key is to toast at least the inside, stops it from getting soggy.

When I see comments with a negative score, I upvote just to spite the downvoters.

      • But how will they know if the comment is 2 weeks old?

  • +6

Just saw them in store, there's also seeded ones now at the same price!

    • +25

      there's also seeded ones

You can download them via torrents ???

    • I love my bums seedy

      • +2

        Hmmmm that's open for interpretation.

        See what I did there??

    • if you use toaster to heat the buns or crisp up the seeds can burn …

      • I like em hot! I like em crispy..

  • +1

Even cheaper. Thanks. I never buy any other brioche buns. They are amazing

  • +2

Just need a secret sauce recipe and some burger patties

Here you go, thanks me later.

    • +2

Nice, but I gotta recommend smashed patties as the way to go for cooking the meat (shake shack style). It's super easy and quick, and basically impossible to mess up because you can go ahead and burn them a bit and they just get better

Love that website though, everything on there

      • +1 on smash burgers.

Ive done regular grilled, sous vide and smashed burgers and now, I don't bother with anything but smash burgers.

Double patty, double cheese, quadruple tasty…
Work great on my KJ grill with cast iron plate.

  • Woolworths also carries a 4 pack of Brioche Buns for $2.70
    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/645865/bak…

Using maths that's $0.70 more expensive than this deal.

      • +6

        Hang on, you're not MathNerd!

      • +2

yeah …. coles and woolies aren't competing well on brioche hamburger and hot buns compared to Aldi …. coles, woolies please be competitive on brioche goods compared to Aldi …. the Germans are putting us Aussies to shame when it comes to hamburger and hot bun sophistication and affordability …. tell tip top, sunicrust and home brand to add some milk and butter to their buns ….. we have evolved past being bogans at bbq's

        • we have evolved past being bogans at bbq's

a nice thought, but I think our bbq pride might be misplaced. most people just fire up a grill for a few minutes and have never even attempted charcoal

I recently went a brazilian friends party. They usually do very impressive bbqs anyway, but for their birthday or whatever they had bought a trailer of wood and slow roasted dinner BETWEEN rows of fire from around 7am. 12+ hours later and it was, pretty pretty good

    • Last time I saw these in store, they looked very small and dense.

      • +3

        That's what she said.

        • But did she have nice buns or were they dense?

    • But Aldi are much tastier

  • +1

The sesame seeds one is really good too. Bought it from ALDI yesterday. ALDI has the best quality

  • is this the new price or a promotion?

    • +2

Promotion which ends on 11th Dec. Normal price is $2.49

      • +1

Nope will be $2 all month.

  • +2

    These are good.
    Secret sauce:
2 dill pickles very finely diced
    1tsp djoin mustard
    4Tbsp whole egg mayo
    2Tbsp tomato sauce

Above recipe is a guide only, adjust to taste

  • +3

    Ice cream bun anyone?
All it takes is 50% off Connoisseurs tubs.

  • I thought they were always this price?

  • +1

Just had these for dinner with their veggie burger patties cooked on the bbq. Added melted cheese, sliced tomato and a fried egg. Plus Aldi smoked chipotle mayo.

I'm not a vegetarian but this was yum!

    • +3

      I only eat vegetarian animals.

    • will give it a go ….every tastes better on brioche …

      • I've never tasted every, is it good?

  • Used to get this plus the Pulled Pork + Coleslaw. For some reason, they've discontinued the pulled pork.

    • +1

      they've discontinued the pulled pork.

They didn't want to offend anyone.

      • they still do bacon and hams, etc pulled port might have been priced too high …. cheap prices seem to surpass religious convictions when on a budget …

    • Pulled Pork might've been a winter/seasonal thing?

      • Yeah probably. I think there are a bunch of other similar products removed. Possibly the beef ribs as well but can't remember.

    • +1

Because pulled pork is also a scam.

    • +2

Pulled pork should be back in after christmas.

  • Brioche bi-otche

  • +4

It's fantastic as a breakfast burger also!
    Fried Egg
    Bacon
    BBQ Sauce
and if you're feeling fancy, caramelised onions :D

    • if you're feeling fancy

      With consent I assume…

      • +1

Had me worried I was going to see an Iggy Azalea meme :D

      • Risky click of the day, but as reilu said it wasn't an Iggy Azalea meme I went through :D

  • +1

    mmm … Juliette Brioche

  • I get the Woolworths BBQ pack. Two meals (4 burgers one night, sausages another night or lunch) for $7.50 and the burgers are really nice.

  • Can you freeze them for later consumption?

    • Check packaging. It'll probably say not suitable as they are defrosted in store

    • I freeze no problem

  • Is it just me or are Aldi best before dates much worse than Woolworths? Technically they do receive goods every day but it sure doesn’t seem that way to me.

    • Agreed, based on recent experience.

    • +1

      less preservatives?
      better ingredients?

      Aldi ones taste better

  • They are cheap, but it is understandable why.
They are frozen and then defrosted (ask the store staff).
    They are full of sugar.
They are not even made in the country…

    • +2

If this is true then I don’t know why you’re being downvoted.

      • +1

What’s going on with these comments? 🤔

    • Pretty sure brioche is supposed to have a bit of sugar, and they're made in France so they're kinda fancy.

  • +2

The woolworths ones are terrible btw.

  • This bun is my favorite. Taste is good and ingredients are also nice!

  • +2

    Burger recipe.
Pork mince, chopped onion and bulgogi sauce. Chuck it all in a salad bowl and hand mix. You'll probably need the whole bottle of bulgogi sauce from woolcoles. Marinate overnight. Fry in plenty of oil on medium heat in small patties. Serve in a bun with plenty of kewpie mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, cheese. Add other salad ingredients as desired.

  • Thanks op. Xmas presents for the family sorted.

    • Oh to see the look on your family member's faces on Christmas morn.

  • +1

Nice one. I like these, they taste great.

  • There are pretty good. And very good value this time around!

  • +1

These are far better than the Coles of Woolworths brands.
    Bargain!

Delicious food posts always get the votes.

      I am gonna just name random treats;

      Snickers
      Nutella
      Pizza Subs
      Lasagne
      Burritos
      Magnums
      Iced Coffee
      Nutella

Now watch the upvotes pour in…

      • +1

        Nutella is the food Eneloop.

      • +1

SSDs and Xbox console deals always get heaps of upvotes.

Pizza subs deserve 1000 upvotes :D

(Btw did you mean to put Nutella on there twice?)

        • Yes. Ozbargain seems obsessed with Nutella.

I don't think I have had a Pizza sub since 1998, but I still love to think about eating them.

      • -1

Yeah, people vote up products they recognise and enjoy.
It's little to do with the actual value of the posting.
