  This game is on GamePass. Currently, GamePass is $1 for one month (remember to turn off auto-renew).
  Gears 2, 3, 4 are also there. Gears 4 is PlayAnywhere edition so can also play on Windows 10 PC (if your PC has a decent graphics card).

    Don't have Game pass but extended my Gold membership not long ago….you don't own this game by chance do you?

      I bought Gears 4 last year (didn't realise it was already on GamePass (no wonder it was cheap) - came with Gears 1, 2, 3 codes). However, I ended up playing Gears Ultimate (Gears of war 1 remake basically) through GamePass. I like Marcus Fenix's arc of the story (Gears 1-3) much more than JD Fenix's arc (Gears 4). I actually played Gears 4 first, liked it and then played Ultimate (1), 2, 3 - all through GamePass (digital version - more convenient than my disc version).

      GamePass $1 special ends early Jan 2019 so if you really want to take advantage of it twice, you will need to buy it from a second account right after very early next year (GamePass can be shared across accounts on the same console if the console is set as the Home console).

        I really enjoyed the first three games also, including Judgement. The original was one of the main reasons I bought a 360. I've started playing Ultimate recently and it looks and controls better then the original. Worth revisiting if it's been a while since you played the 360 version or haven't experienced it previously. Especially at this price.

        I doubt I can make good use of GamePass before end of January despite the cost but good call out for those whose who've held off utill now. 👍

          @cheepo: Recently rejoined GamePass ($1) for Forza Horizon 4. I thought even playing just that game is worth $1. That's a PlayAnywhere title.

          But yeah, my pile of shame is long so GamePass isn't that useful to me. Lucky I played FH4 before RDR2 came out. Not sure I want to buy it for $1 later this month (finished RDR2 but moving on to AC: Odyssey on PC next). Already gone through to one full cycle of 4 seasons in FH4.

          I managed to play Gears Ultimate (1), 2, 3, 4 within a week. Definitely appreciate this one being remake (instead of remaster). I can understand why this title was a system sell for XB360. Would be great to have a remake version of Gears 2 and 3. Unsure about the direction of Gears 5, I just hope they don't go Starcraft / Kerrigan route (that would be too predictable).

        Just FYI if you have an xbox one X Gears 2 and 3 both look amazing upscaled to 4K and I think they are on par visually with the Gears 1 remake too.
        When I got my One X the first games I loaded on it were Gears 2 and 3 to see how good they looked on it and I was blown away and am hoping they enhance more 360 games because it just gives them a whole new lease of life.
