  • Please note that there have been multiple reports of users being asked and/or being offered incentives from the store in exchange for positive comments or removal/changing of their comments/complaints. See discussion here. Collier Bristow is now banned from OzBargain indefinitely.

In previous deals we had observed (and users had also reported to us) some members making complaints in comments about not receiving their goods, only for them to comment a few hours later that all their complaints had been resolved (despite nothing having changed in their order status); even then offering to personally assist other users or give out special email addresses or phone numbers. We had spoken to users and posters about this, all had denied receiving goods or similar.

However it's come to our attention, that this wasn't the case and multiple users had been offered goods/freebies in return for removing/changing their complaints or writing positive comments in reply to their initial complaints. Such artificial comments can persuade other OzBargainers to purchase from a deal post, which they may have otherwise avoided. It is therefore best to sticky these warnings to the existing deal posts and block any future deals posts from the store, with things as they stand.

A reminder, our sockpuppeting guidelines forbids anyone posting or commenting because they've been asked to or in return for incentives, without declaring affiliation.

If you have been offered goods and/or payment in return for removing comments or positive comments, please use the Talk With A Moderator forum to let us know. The information will remain private.

    • Ordered on 19 Dec and I haven’t received a shipping notification, nor have I received a response to either of my two emails seeking an order update. I’m going to give them another week to ship the goods, else I will initiate a charge back through my bank. Beware of this outfit!

  • Damn, only really big sizes left for Men's Craftsman Chelsea boots

    • +1

Yet somehow still not big enough for my needs.

  • +1

For me the only decent deal is the wash bag, I don't think i've seen them that cheap before. I bought one recently in chestnut from the RM Williams store with 30% off, they only had black online but I emailed them and they were able to send me the chestnut including the discount and free post brining it down to $100

    Winning!

    • Is it made in Australia?

      • I have the overnight bag which was made in Italy but the washbag had no marking or labels to say where it was made.

        • Cheers for the reply. I'm overseas at the moment, if you have time, do you mind letting me know what you think of the washbag. In terms of quality, feel, size appropriateness etc.

          • @Coatesy: I guess it depends what you're looking for in a wash bag.. Im a leather fan and this bag is particularly good having being made from great quality leather like most RM Williams products.. Large enough to fit all the essentials, only one zipped main pocket with two inner pockets though those pockets are not really large enough to fit anything bulky as you would imagine.

I find with my leather products that they get better with age and begin to soften up..

            Quality - Great
            Feel - Great
Size - On par with other dop kits and wash bags
Appropriateness - I think this will do the job just fine.

          • @Coatesy: I checked out the washbag at RM store today. Both chestnut and black are nice with smooth leather. Large enough to fit in all grooming needs I reckon. The one selling here is pebble leather with one inner pocket as per description. Perhaps last season's?

            • @Jx: Thanks Jx, appreciate the feedback. Think ill pick one up :)

    • I ended up ordering some swim shorts for my Xmas break should be here in time before I leave dhl express

  • What sizing do they use? UK or US?

  • +11

Funny go to Brit shop half way round the world to buy Australian stuff to ship back.

    • +1

When I was doing my post grad, I bought a book written, published and printed in Australia from a UK website at half the price of what it was selling for here

  • Last time I posted a collier bristow deal, collier bristow yanked it! Said it didn't include rm williams. Hope someone gets in quick with a great rm williams discount!
    Thanks op

  • Thanks. Ordered an overnight bag

Havnt received 2 boots since the first order 2 months ago. They stopped replying to my emails about 2 weeks ago.

    • Got mine within 2 weeks, as did a lot of others.

    • +1

got mine a week ago, it took its time granted, but I was in no rush.

      Still a bargain imo

    • +2

Same here I ordered on the 15th of Oct I've tried sending multiple emails but haven't heard anything back since the order confirmation. No shipping confirmation nothing.

  • Very hard to see what is in stock!

  • +6

Purchased boots from the last sale and their last reply to my email was over 2 weeks ago.

Was told there was two incoming shipments that would most likely fulfill my order, so I happily waited until after those dates to hit back for another update. Have not heard back from an email I sent earlier this week. Still playing the patience game, but the only peace of mind comes from knowing I can file a Paypal dispute when I need to. In the meantime I've just been ~$320 out of pocket.

I read the other comments before buying and thought I would risk it anyway because of the deal, but I guess I just got unlucky. Some people have gotten their orders, but if you actually want a pair of boots, I would recommend just spending the extra money elsewhere to save time. If you are fine with spending a couple months out of pocket, then try your luck, but definitely no guarantees with this seller.

    • +4

Same experience exactly. Im out of pocket $650. Would have gladly spent extra had I known the time and effort I would spend chasing up the order.

      • +2

Try emailing them again. It seems the guy was having some health issues and got bombarded by 1300+ orders. Got swamped.. hopefully he makes it right with everyone. Currently trying to sort my issue. Goodluck to you guys.

    DONT WASTE YOUR TIME

My girlfriend ordered a pair of boots maybe 6 weeks ago now during a sale. They came damaged.

After the first few emails there rep was willing to send a replacement. Empty promise. My girlfriend has since sent over 30 emails enquiring. Every 5-10 emails they will respond with more empty promises saying the item will be shipped ASAP! This has been going on for 6 weeks. We are giving them one more day to respond before filing a dispute with the bank and getting a refund. IMO don’t waste your time. Very unprofessional. Almost feels like an eBay scammer with the way they reply and then nothing more ghosting.

    Thumbs down 👎🏻

Seems like a small outfit with negligible annual turnover.

    • +1

I’d say this is 99% resolved and then some. Just waiting for a tracking email to be sent in the morning once the order gets sent off… which I believe and hope it will. Have faith Freddy and Collier are turning it around and getting back on track and being more reliable.

I would tell anyone that’s hesitant to order from Collier to give it a go. Out of the 3 orders I’ve had through them only one has had an issue and Freddy at Collier has turned it around and resolved it with me… maybe not as timely as I’d wanted but he has made up for that fact.

Turned my negative experience into a positive one. That should always be the aim!

      • +1

They seem to be getting on top of their stock so you should see them soon

  • +1

Freddy has messaged me after my comment and we hope to have the issue resolved by the morning.

He sent me a very thorough and sincere reply and explained the issues.
After the email I have a bit more faith in my issue being resolve this time!

Anyone who has had or is having issues I recommend contacting him at the email below.

    [email protected]

Here’s hoping. I’ll update in the future.

    • Nice, hope all goes ok.

  • Well I guess it's a testament to how bloody good these boots are. I haven't needed to buy anymore pairs in over 10 years. When did they jump up in price that far? That's ridiculous lol.

  • I'm really torn, ive been wanting these for a while but this company doesn't seem very reputable and I need the boots in the next couple months. Not sure what to do

  • I would order and wait it out. If the boots are not in stock they order from rm williams australia which takes minimum of 6-8weeks.

I ordered 2 pairs and received them fairly quickly. I ordered another two pairs which were dark tan and Adelaide's had to be ordered in and have been received which should be shipped out today.

  • Ugh, I've bought enough shoes online to know that for my weird feet I simply can't trust that I'll get the right size. I'm normally a 10 in shoes, got some 9.5 Hush Puppies Chelsea boots and I absolutely swim in them. I just know ordering from the other side of the globe would go wrong :(

    • +1

Go into an RM Williams store and get your feet measured and order accordingly. I have different sizes for each foot.

      • See that's the thing with the Hush Puppies - I bought some inner soles to try and work it out only to find my left foot is significantly snugger than my left. Are you legit saying RM will sell two shoes of different sizes?

        • Absolutely. Fit is key when getting a set of RMs so they will do what it takes to get it right. Generally it's just different widths for each foot

  • +3

    Hey guys,

I am yet to receive two pairs of boots that I ordered on the 20th of November.

One of the pairs I ordered is still listed as in stock, so I have no idea why it has not shipped.

I’ve been offered an additional pair and immediate postage last week, but I’ve received no tracking or indication that anything has shipped.

I think it would be fair to for the company to sort out the current issues before continuously having sales and getting further into a backlog of orders.

  • +3

To all the disgruntled customers, if it doesn't work out you can also talk to Collyer Bristow instead about Collier Bristow!

    https://www.collyerbristow.com/

    • No 50% off though :)

  • Like others I ordered in the November sale, but they have gone quiet since the order was placed. I ordered an item that wasn't in stock so did expect it to take an extra few weeks but haven't had an update since (also emailed [email protected]).

Hope all turns out ok, but at least purchasing via PayPal gives some protection.

  • +1

Still waiting on my special order, said they’ll email me an ETA and never follow up. Close to filling a charge back.

  • Only size 12 left in the two chestnuts

  • +1

Ordered a MTO pair from them a few weeks back. Haven't received a confirmation of the order with RM or a reply to my e-mail a few days ago about it. Thinking of getting a pair for the gf but the communication with the store is lacking.

  • +1

    Don't.

  • I'm still waiting for a pair of Comfort Craftsman size 9.5G from October!
It has been nothing but excuses. Last week Freddie offered to send me a free pair of boots but doesn't have my size in stock so no point. I have emailed them twice this week without response.

    • I think the excuses actually are legitimate, he said to contact him at [email protected]

You should be able to get a refund otherwise.

      • Legitimate or not two months is ridiculous.

I've already emailed him twice this week and still no response.

        • What's your email? I just chatted with him and he seems genuinely keen to have everyone walk away happy. Shoot me a PM.

  • +1

I'd rather buy these from Australia. Besides this is not a deal compared to RM DFO.

    • Pretty sure RM has international warranty

    • +2

Definitely a deal I was in store at the DFO today and they had factory seconds limited selection that had a hole punch to show it was a factory second at way more then what Collier is selling it for

  • +1

I just spoke to the owner again who cleared my situation up entirely, and I regret the nasty comments I've been making. The store is clearly legitimate, I've just been misplacing my rage from a lack of communication, which Freddie personally apologised for yet explained very reasonably.

99% of people from the original sale have received their boots, it's only a very small number who are still waiting - but it's the angry minorities that scream the loudest and drown out the rest.

I've been assured my boots will arrive very soon, the only outstanding orders were those that were out of stock at the time or made to order - my pair for instance had just run out of stock right before I purchased, and in all fairness I have been offered a refund from the very start but turned it down because I wanted the boots.

I have faith I'll get them and I feel for Freddie - these deals are NOT meant to end up on Ozbargain, but it seems we've actually "ozbargained" a whole business, the sale code was clearly meant to be for targeted customers but here we are exploiting that.

Also one other thing to note is that the items on sale at the moment are not any of the outstanding orders and are strictly in-stock items - so this is by far the best deal any of us will see on these boots. I had just told 2 guys in my office who were about to buy some to be wary, but instead feel completely reassured after speaking to Freddie - clearly a genuine dude who has just been inundated with so many unexpected orders.

    • Understand what you are saying but seems silly to put another sale on after being innundated/ozbargained the first time around.

      • The issue the first time was there was some shoes that were made to order and some that were out of stock, unfortunately it didn't get communicated - in this sale it's only current stock so there shouldn't be much of a wait at all.

  • +1

Like I mentioned earlier I have received my boots from Collier and ordered two more boots now.

They also have a range of Filling sneakers n clothes which are delivered very quickly.

The shoes if are made to order takes a while for it to be delivered even if ordered through RM Williams by paying 50% more. Collier is a reputable business but as mentioned has been obargained regularly.

    L

  • Got an email confirming my order, so I should get it before Christmas - pretty pumped. They've gone above and beyond with customer service today.

  • Everyone sleeping on the rest of the deal being the half price shirts actually, ended up getting myself a few linen ones that look pretty good

  • This is actually ridiculous. Ive called Freddie maybe 5-6 times and every phone call seems to end the same way. Ive asked for a refund but because ive asked for a special order (from the 29th October) it supposably has not come yet. A week ago he offered me a second pair for free, however no follow up again after he said that I would be getting the tracking number for them soon. I called again today and he did not remember that he said he would have the second pair sent out. So waiting 6 weeks now, 6-8+ emails, 6 calls of reassurance and no actual tracking numbers. This guy may be friendly but I definitely do not reccommend getting stuff from this site. So close to calling my bank for a chargeback.

  • I have had great communication with Freddie to date, usually responds quite quickly. However, lately it has dropped off. I purchased the boots in the last sale (21st November). I emailed prior to ordering to suss it out and find out what wait time I am looking at.

I was originally sent this reply by Freddie "These boots would have an estimated time of 2 to 3 weeks to be with you as this a boot they will have in stock". Which of course I was aware of and happy to order despite the mixed reviews.

In a later email I went on to say "I hope that this is a smooth transaction as there is a lot of mixed reviews associated with this deal." Freddie reply was, "
I apologise and understand some mixed reviews. We had over 600 orders in a day and this caused some issues before. We are properly set up now. Please note as your boots are an order of H there is a lead time for this of 2 weeks as all our boots are G fit and ones in our warehouse off the warehouse. Just so you are not expecting them to be sent out today. Let me know if anything else I can help with as certainly don't want to be knows for slow communication which before happened."

It appears a lot of communication has gone on. 21 emails in total (majority by me) and I have never been sent an actual confirmation of order/order number/shipping information at any stage in the last 4 weeks. It is disappointing, I am not sure if I a more disappointed in Collier Bristow or myself for not taking the advice from others and avoid the hassle and buy somewhere direct in Australia especially when I have purchased these boots to wear at my big day "Wedding" soon. I am not sure if they are going to get here in time.

I do hope I am given some solid information soon shipping information etc. As I am going to have to make other arrangements for shoes to wear on my wedding. I hope others have had better luck with their order and are enjoying their purchase.

P.S it appears that this is not true "We are properly set up now." Freddie-Collier Bristow (2018)

    Kind Regards

    • hi grads a number of us have received our orders and placed orders for more items from Collier. Was your boot made to order as even if you went and ordered directly from Rm williams paying the price of 545+ you will have to wait 6-8 weeks for it to be made and knowing the RM will be closed over the Xmas break will take even longer. Some guys have placed orders directly with RM over Nov/Dec and have not received the boots till Feb/March the following year…

      • Yes Skirulz, it was made to order- size 12H. Somewhere in the communication line I was told a 2 week lead time which is indeed not the case for my boots. Which normally would not be a problem but because they are for my wedding I have been stressing out that they will not arrive. Anyway the matter has been dealt with very professionally by the business and Freddie and i have been assured they will arrive with plenty of time to spare. I will advise anyone making a special order or specific size that is not in stock to be prepared to wait, rest assured it will be worth. After all they are the cheapest in the world by a country mile!

    • Hello OzBargainer's,

I have recently spoken to Freddie on the phone (He phoned me directly from the UK), he is indeed the "Real Deal". He has apologised for the lack of communication and has assured the boots will arrive before my big day. He has personally contacted a reliable source from RM Williams to track down the progress of my order and will notify me of it's progress as soon as he knows (This is actually out of his hands otherwise). The point I would take from the process is that they are an awesome price and therefore reflects fair reason to have to wait, therefore don't be afraid to use this website. I also was told and have witnessed through other OZBargainer's that most people from the original sale have received their boots, it's only a very small number who are still waiting.

I have no doubt that my boots will be on the way soon and will be extremely happy with my purchase on so will the wife on our wedding day ;) Freddie and the business have been overwhelmed with the orders coming through as he said it is no excuse but they are working through the issues and pumping out orders as quick as they can. I can sleep easy now knowing that this is NO JOKE! and i just need to be patient. I will keep everyone updated with the progress of my order.

I will leave everyone with this quote, "The longer you wait for something, the more you'll appreciate it when you get it. Cause anything worth having, is definitely worth waiting…"

      • Hello OzBargainer's,

Please understand that my previous comment was based on a special made to order size and that this ONLY entails a wait time. All other standard sizes are sent within 24 hours. I am not sure I made this clear to everyone. I look forward to my boots arriving.

        Thanks :)

  • Have had some trouble with getting my order sent as per other Ozbargainers. But Freddy has personally called and apologised for the delays. He has indeed been swamped by orders and is short-staffed. As a goodwill gesture, he has even sent out a package with a couple of complimentary filling pieces. He is the real deal and I would urge you to give him a go!

    • Have you received the package or tracking/shipping details?

      • I'm sure 'Real Deal Freddy™' has kept in-touch assuring him of the impending arrival.

        • Yes, I am sure he has too. I am awaiting shipping details. But was emailed yesterday saying part of my order will be sent today or tomorrow. Getting excited! The boots are going to look mint on my wedding day!

          • @grads5: Did Freddy end up sending you shipping/tracking info on the 3rd, 4th, or 5th?

Have you made alternative arrangements for your wedding day?

            • -1

@xuqi: Today i will receive the tracking details at 4pm (UK Time) according to Freddie

  • +2

Ordered in November, now being told February for my boots. Unacceptable

    • -3

Got swamped with orders and Christmas warehouse close down period I believe, I am sure you will get a refund if you are not happy to wait.

  • -3

I have just received an email from Freddie (Owner Collier Bristow) saying that all outstanding orders will receive tracking/shipping details anytime between now and the 2nd February (this is only worst case scenario for all made to order/ re stocked boots) a number of orders will start receiving their tracking/shipping info from today 4pm (UK time). Stock on the website is all completely up to date now.

  • -2

    Hey OzBargainer's,

Just to give both old and new members and update, I was obviously one of the unhappy customers of Collier Bristow before Christmas.

However, I have since received my boots (Yesterday) and am more then satisfied and will definitely not hesitate in buying from them again. Fair play to them for fulfilling orders and sorting out their problems.

I look forward to taking advantage of their great priced RM boots and the other brands they stock in the future.

    Have a good one :)

  • +1

    Hey OzBargainers,

Just an update, placed my order on 23rd November. waited 2 months no response. 3 months later had to raise a dispute with Paypal and the most shady thing was CollBis didn't respond to Paypal as well.

Paypal has closed the case in my favour, any of you still has any hope for your orders please contact paypal and save your money :)

    DONOT order on this website

    Thanks

    • +1

I ordered on 15 December and haven't had any correspondence from the store, apart from initial contact that was made some time ago assuring me that my boots would be sent.

I have, as of 5 minutes ago, also raised a PayPal dispute.

I echo your comment: DO NOT ORDER ON THIS WEBSITE.
