    Jet fuel price is down a lot which is a big expense for airlines

    While they wouldn't be making money if this was the base economy fare, they're not spending $700 in fuel, meals, baggage handling, passenger charges etc. on each passenger. Most passengers on a given flight will be paying a lot more. But the competition on this route has turned it from the most profitable in Qantas' stable (20% of its entire profit in its glory days, when its only competitor was United), to a much more marginal contributor.

  Really tempting price. Any chance for a good value connection through to New York? Not fussy on dates, but rolling the international baggage allowance over to the domestic connection is my main concern.

    If I was doing a TRS I'd prefer NZ or Bali for the shorter flight. Especially with the VA double credits promo!

  It appears most of the cheap flightrs ex BNE connect through southern ports rather than direct.

    You can get reviews etc through skyscanner. I've never been confident enough to book with them personally after reading reviews, but do your own research of course. Alternatively aunt betty appears to be ~$25-30 more and we know they're owned by flight centre so they shouldn't screw you over. The service is likely to be less than flight centre or booking through virgin if you need any concession or change etc but thats to be expected.

    Booked using BYOJet in April for a flight in November this year with no issues. Kept me updated by email regarding flight time changes but can't comment more on their customer service as I didn't have a need to contact them.

    My first purchase via POLI on BYOJet was a pain in the rear. BYOJet emailed me saying they haven't received the money like 5 days after I was charged.
    They sent me the same itinerary with an increased amount, saying that I need to pay to secure my tickets. WTF???

    Anyway after spending nearly an hour on the phone with their rep, they made me feel bad and guilty for whatever tech issue they had with Poli (which I doubt), then were like "okay, we will confirm this itinerary and price and send you e-tickets".

    Haven't booked with them again since then

      All the booking agents are poor if you need to make changes, that's how they can offer low fares up front by making money on people who change or cancel with excessive fees, the only reason i want that flight links to them is their affiliate commissions.
