    What are they used for?
Do they connect to a Swann security system or an app?

    Do I need this?

Well this is one review from the JB site lol

We bought the whole kit including all the bells and whistles that come with it…Purchased from JB Hi-Fi Its never worked from day one, way too many notifications, lag in the system..so if turn the system off you need to wait outside your house for 5 minutes before you enter… video useless and the call centre is not helpful and you cant speak to anyone on Australia to resolve the issue…and you cant put a review on the Swannone website… DO NOT BUY….

I usually ask that after I've made a purchase, and the answer 97% of the time is No… No I did not need it.

      • I do this 98% of the time. But I felt this one was a bit iffy.

    rather buy Mijia's stuff.

  • Yeah can anyone reccomend reliable motion sensors with app and even phone call notifications.

I bought $400 worth of dlink newest cameras from jb and retunred them in 24hrs they were that buggy.

    • Xiao Mi is now I am using home, and business. It is better to use either IPhone, or Mi Phone to receive notification.

    • The panasonic home network security kits are great if you don't need cameras integrated into it. Alerts and remote access/control is very good and it can call out via a land line if you want that kind of monitoring. It uses the dect network protocol so doesn't impact your home wifi and is much more robust. You can get cameras for it but most are low res vga - the high res 1080p version is available on amazon.com but it uses wifi so not as reliable and indoor use only. Doesn't have an external siren, which is the biggest let down in my opinion if you need that. It's been reviewed by security co's and the remote connection is supposedly very secure, unlike the xiaomi service.

      • How many times more expensive?

        • I got a kit for around $120 including hub, 2 x wireless window/door sensors, 2 x motion sensor, 4 smart power controllers and indoor siren. They've been on special several times so not hard to get. In any case I'd pay more for privacy and security.

I've got this for shits and giggles back when they discontinued (unofficially) them in 2016 in the OfficeWorks bargain bin for $50, These things are buggy as hell and always give out false alerts and honestly not worth the hassle. There's never been a update and the base station was meant to get a HDD addon firmware for the camera but that never happened but instead you need to pay a monthly subscription to use a video server that never worked. The SwannOne system is half baked and I feel bad for people who paid $500 for the kit as you can see the comments at their site due to all the bugs.

This is why it's on clearance for $89 for the whole kit!

    READ THE COMMENTS, IT'S BAD!

It's a shame they never put any effort into this system as it would make a perfect addition to Google Home

I've long disconnected the system from my network and the base station just sits there as a key bowl in my living room.

    • The review on the jb hi-fi site wasnt too kind either lol.

  • please delete this dupe

  • Please read the review before buying. Looks like you will most likely to claim warranty
