    I believe these have Seagate "Desktop HDDs" in them which are basically renamed barracudas that were mostly for system integrators.

        imo theyre both very similar in speeds/reliability/warranties that there wont be any difference choosing one over the other. People who condemn one brand over the other have just had a bad/unlucky experience with one brand and a particular batch of HDDs but in reality both brands are really the same.

        Go with the brand you like more, I bought Ironwolfs myself for a nas system.

  Anyone shucked this drive can give the HDD model number? I suspect it might be a SMR disk inside.
