Sodastream to Clean Computer?

can you use a sodastream Co2 canisters to clean the inside your computer safely?

was toying with the idea of buying a machine on clearance & pulling it apart.
so $19 would get me a 15L gas can with some sort of trigger system which should last a long time if used only for cleaning & a drink bottle.
but was concerned the Co2 gas would slowly kill the circuits of the computer.

did find this article which mentions C02 is used for cleaning, but would sodastream be considered a approved product for cleaning or food prep only?

  • Don't know but here is your trigger https://youtu.be/mi47SlCI9qQ?t=152 Can just buy the cylinder from woolworths

Only if you pay your carbon dioxide tax first. :P

Srly though, I wouldn't risk it, just get a can of compressed air or do what I do and use a paintbrush and vacuum cleaner, but, you know, unplug the PC first.

  • +1

Seems to be a rather expensive and convoluted way to get compressed air.

Nothing special about using CO2, aside from it doesn't contain moisture.

  • CO2 does turn into carbonic acid when it meets moisture. Not sure if it'd actually have any real effect on your circuits, but this is so convoluted and off-label that… why? If you want to save money, buy an electric air compressor.

  • Kmart has cans of compressed air for $5.

  • I just use a old paintbrush.

  • I use the garden blower.
