    • I found one in may but it sold out in the middle of processing

      • Same here. It's happened twice now. :(

      • Same…

  • Most are now gone

  • +1

For future reference, how do you view month view with the prices?

    • +2
      • Thanks, for some reason it was taking me to a different looking screen which didn't have it. So I started again and then I had it.

      • Definitely not seeing a page like the screenshot. It is old booking engine. Try firefox, chrome, IE all show new booking page.
New booking page does not have month view.

        • I see, then you'll have to scroll through that view to find them on those browsers. I've never gotten that booking page.

        • That is what I got. Closed the page and followed the deal link again and got the old view

  • Where do you input the code?

    • +1

after selecting dates on the initial calendar view (find flights > select rough dates > select flight times > input code)

  • +3

    Still no Adelaide bah

  • +1

Timed out at the last page :(. By the time I got it working, flights had gone.

  • Couldnt find a single $2 flight.

  • Sorry for the dumb question, but how do you select month view? I cannot find it anywhere

    • on the flight/date selection page after you enter the code, you can see it in the linked screenshots in the post.

  • -8

Could not find any for Brisbane. Again. Stop posting this nonsense of a deal

    • +7

Just because it's not a deal for you, doesn't mean it's not for other people. Stop being so bitter.

  • How the hell you do monthly view please?

    • on the flight/date selection page after you enter the code, you can see it in the linked screenshots in the post.

I was prepared this time and got the tickets, after booking I realised I had booked Cairns > Mel and then Mel > Cairns.. Not sure how to get to Cairns now hahaha

    • I have friends up there who might buy them off you if you can't sort it out. PM me if so.

      • how much does it cost to change name?

        • They will need to pay both name change and fare difference fees according to jetstar website

          • @forrester: yeah nah not worth it then.

just buy one way tix to Cairns or one way tix to Mel (which ever cheaper)

          • @forrester: While this may technically be true, they don't normally check ID for domestic flights.

  • So confused about these deals of where to enter the code to see the cheaper prices.

  • Found a few in month view but after selecting them the site would take me back to a view of current weeks flights, assume they’re taken or that it is too painful an experience via mobile

I don't know why i bother trying on these deals, but it's entertaining, like a scratchy.

    • +2

If booking a return for two people, it takes so long to go through all the options and data fields, that you've lost your seats by the time you press the "Pay Now" button.

      • +1

Exactly the same for me. Chose the dates, filled out the one hundred options and then after i hit the complete payment button it says they are gone. Doh.

      • +1

It is hard, especially for return fares,

  • OP, do you book your own flights before posting on OzB?

    • +17

I have no travel needs in the near future - just putting them straight up here for others.

      • +5

        the hero we don't deserve

  • +1

Done an exhaustive search, nothing from Melbourne left.

  • +3

We didn't miss out on anything here…

Townsville is the Centrelink state of Australia filled with bogans and Cairns has a flu epidemic going on

  • +3

OP Thank you for keep posting this. ignore the haters!

  • +1

Thanks OP, got a weekend there in June.

  • +2

What about Adelaide OP? Nothing so far from Adelaide. Why ?

    • +1

      YOU KNOW WHY!

    • +6

      Yeah OP!
Why no deals for Adelaide OP!?
THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT OP!!
      /s

  • +1

Thanks OP, got one from AYQ to BNE

    • What date? I'm looking for BNE to AYQ but cant find any availability

  • +1

Does anyone know how much it costs to do a name change/transfer?

    • +1

Don’t think it’s possible. Attempted it before and they won’t allow it.

    • +1

cost you around AUD 55/pax just to change name but fare difference lol.
Do they even check ID for domestic flight?

      • +1

officially, they check ID for domestic flights,
however, if you go through 'web check-in' or through 'check-in kiosks' at the airport,
they don't enforce ID-check so far.

This one of the reasons I cringe every time I see a Jetstar ticket being resold for cost price (or more!) on Gumtree. Since you pay the fare difference plus the change fee, per leg, it costs significantly more to re-buy a starter ticket at the cost price than to buy a new ticket.

Since the change fee is more than $2 it would therefore be nonsensical to change names on a ticket.

These deals would obviously be exploited by scalpers. The reason Jetstar deserves criticism is because non-refundable starter domestic tickets often cost less than $100 but the change fee is $55 (after the fare difference has already been charged), meaning after costs are incurred, change fees derive more profit than the tickets themselves.

For event tickets in NSW, the laws were actually changed this year to protect buyers from those policies that prevented ticket re-selling, as long as the ticket is sold below cost price plus 10% (https://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/buying-products-and-servi…):

What if the terms and conditions say the ticket cannot be resold?
One of the aims of the ticket scalping laws is to provide for a legitimate resale market. Consumers who purchase an event ticket and can no longer attend should be able to sell that ticket to someone else and recover their costs in the process.

From 1 June 2018, new laws include a protection for consumers that prevents an event organiser from cancelling a ticket on the basis it was resold, if it was sold in accordance with the new laws.

If the event's terms and conditions state you are not allowed to resell your ticket under any circumstances, contact Fair Trading. We will assess the terms and conditions of the ticket and gather other relevant information, including by contacting the event organiser, to decide whether compliance action should be taken.

  • I'm in Brisbane and have tried going onto the Jetstar site @ 9am Brisbane time for the past two days and I have been able to locate the sales. Is there a particular website I need to go on? And how do I know what the code is? Or must I go through OzBargains? Please help!

    • You'll need to visit OzBargain and check from around 8:50am Bris time for a new deal post for today's sale (note deals will go live at 9am, so wait until then to try finding them). I will post the code here, along with the secret link to the sales (not available through the regular Jetstar site). You can then view the destinations available for the sales today, and click through and choose rough dates if one of them suits you, then it will ask for the code before you pick and confirm flights.
