    Data Science is moving away from the traditional SQL data warehouses, generally with SAS sitting on top to a more Python/open source world. Obviously you won't do these online courses and immediately walk into a contracting Data Analyst role on a 4 figure day rate, but if it is a field your interested in, they are excellent starting foundations to have in your back pocket.

      Good explanation. I would like to add that courses like these are designed to help you get up to speed by acquiring the fundamental skills via the course. You will need to continue to apply yourself and develop those skills further (either via a course or using your programming skills to develop apps or libraries). Once you are proficient enough in the basics and can go beyond the intermediate level, it will present opportunities to help further your career.

  For a complete beginner, are these good? Or are there better courses available elsewhere?

  im Interested in in automating my web browsing… ie scrape websites and compile all the info onto my own page that I look up each morning/afternoon.

  Possibly code an app or two.
