I would still check, I think it’s more so if you aren’t currently subscribed
If your trial has lapsed and you don't have it currently at all I think it will still work.

Tried having a try of GTA online (PS4) for the first time, a little annoyed that a PS Plus subscription is required. They make it sound like access to it is included in the purchase price of the game.
Yeah console multiplayer subscription bothers me.. that's why I stick with PC where I can for multiplayer games.
Worst thing is that ps3 PSN was initially free then they realised how much money they could've made with Xbox360 doing it :(
Me too. I've been avoiding a console for ages - and I have no gaming PC.
But then I figured out that a subscription is cheaper than building a basic gaming PC these days, even for 5 years, so I went a bought a console in the recent sales.
Would probably prefer a PC but the initial outlay is quite significant for a casual gamer.
Create an Indonesian PSN account buy PS+ on that (~$30au) and you can play online on your main AU account. AUS PS+ is not worth it unless you have multiple consoles you want to sync saves between.
