Asus Radeon EX-RX570-O4G 4GB Expedition $149 Pick up or + Delivery + 2 Free Games @ MSY

1360

Hi all, was bidding on 2nd hand graphics card on ebay for the last week, however happened to come across this brand new best value graphics card from MSY website today.
Can handle most of the 3A games on high setting. Performance is slightly slower than GTX 1060 6GB however it is only 1/2 of the price.
would guess this was built for mining however needed to clear as the result of the coin collapsing.

showing stock everywhere at the time of posting.

edit:
thanks for ransworld's advice, 2 free games make this deal even better.

you can choose any 2 of below items:

Resident Evil™ 2, Devil May Cry™ 5, Tom Clancy’s The Division® 2

According to this guys comment you should see a big improvement. Witcher 2 is also an older game so shouldn't be CPU bottlenecked.

According to Userbenchmark which isn't by any means a hugely accurate comparison the RX 570 is 320% better than the HD 6850 so you are getting a massive boost in graphics processing power. You should find any game you try will run hugely better on your PC with the new card.

Thanks Agret! Ordered one for pick up Mitcham VIC. Finally I can try playing games newer than 2014 :)

        • Good choice. I used to have this card, it's an amazing deal!

    • Nothing will run PUBG at a decent FPS, it is not your gear… the game is shit (yes still I play). I think this 570 would pair ok with the 1st gen i7 CPU. Something will always bottleneck something else, buy this and when you cannot stand your current CPU anymore upgrade then.

thanks OP! bought 1 to upgrade my good old R9 270x - hopefully it's a huge step up :)
But not sure if I can trust they will have stock because I've only ordered for pickup…hopefully they dont cancel my order when stock runs out…

    • so annoyed - ordered for pickup at hurstville store but an hr later got email it's out of stock. It was still in stock when I ordered it for pickup, very very annoyed!!!!!! Now just placed another order for delivery ($13 more), hopefully it will be delivered…

      • Went to pick up mine today and the only one they have in stock is faulty. Plenty in their warehouse. Picking up next weekend.

No stock left in WA (cannington and balcatta)
Went into store a few hours ago and the guy in front of me bought the last 2 in Cannington

You can preorder for next year, stock should arrive in mid to late jan

    Free games still available

  • For those who consider buying this card: Beware the temrature is awful when running at full speed even in open cases. The temprature are more severe in closed cases. The VRM and Memory will run at 85C degrees. So it is very likely to break itself just as reported by quite several people above.

  • Just want to clarify how do the free games work from AMD?
from Nvidia to actually be allowed to use the game code you must have the GPU labelled in the deal in your PC for it to work. I thought AMD were a bit more lenient on this and you were basically given a free code you could use anywhere, am i correct in thinking this?

The link in title explains redemption process?

      • It does indeed, thank you.
damn so it is the same as Nvidia, you actually have to put the card in to get the game codes. mildly bothersome but still might do it. I guess it means the game codes are worth a fair bit less though :/

  • Would anyone happen to know if this fits in the Akitio Node Lite (https://www.akitio.com/expansion/node-lite)? This would be perfect for my new 13” MacBook Pro.

Edit: never mind, found my answer. It doesn’t fit without case modifications.

  • Don't worry about the "too noisy" comments.
You won't get a better card than this for $149.
I'm going to hide the deal because even though I have a Vega, I'm still tempted to buy this as well lol.

  • This is selling out fast! When I went to the ultimo store, at 3pm they still had lots of stock and now its sold out.

My temp is only 65-68 and fan load is only 44%.

Yeah I noticed some heat the GPU fans don't even start spinning until around 50C Degrees, after some googling I believe you can force the 2 GPU fans to always spin as well as the usual faster RPM Speed Tweaks by adjusting the Fan Curves/Speeds with programs like MSI Afterburner.

  • Just picked mine up. Not really sure I needed it as I don't play many games.
Planning to replace a gtx760 with this and use the 760 to replace a HD5870.
Would that be the logical move?

    • I noticed with Wow BFA set to 10 (High Graphics) with Direct 12 it works a lot better than the Ancient GTX760. I also fired up the latest Doom and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus and they played fine with the default settings. I'm going to use my old GTX 760 to replace a old Asus Direct II 560 Ti I got for $5 so Rocket Legaue runs a bit smoother on my TV. Not sure about the HD5870 on the Windows side of things ripped one out of my old Mac Pro Tower but never gamed on it or benched it as it was many for just better Quartz Graphics Acceleration of GUI on Mac OSX before MacOS changed to Metal. Just remember go onto the experience with the mindset that it's still only a $149 GPU not a high end beast that you might see streamers play games with on Twitch or YouTube 😁

  • Would a i5 3570k at base be able to handle this card? I previously ran a GTX780 but upgraded to a 1070 (silly I know) and was looking to downgrade back to a capable graphics card until I can afford to build a comp for my 1070. Just unsure if my CPU could handle this

    • Nothing silly about going from a GTX780 to a 1070, it's roughly 50% faster so you would get similar performance to SLI GTX780 but on a single card so you avoid all the downsides of SLI (heat, power usage, microstuttering, game/driver support).

The RX570 is virtually on-par with the GTX780, since the 3570k is no slouch and easily handles a GTX 1070 you would have no problem dropping down to it if you find yourself only playing games like LoL / CSGO where you don't need the extra power of the 1070.

    • What is wrong with the 1070? I'd keep it and not get the RX 570. My suggestion would be to find out how to overclock your CPU and do that, then turn up visuals in games that don't have a high CPU cost.

      • I found that using my 1070 hasn’t given me much benefit and majority of my games are stuttering and lagging, and I just figured my CPU was bottlenecking the 1070.

          Damn, that sucks.

If your motherboard supports it, I'd highly recommend overclocking your system. I got my 1st gen i5-750 to overclock by 50%, allowing me to use it to January this year, I had to upgrade for VR and that stable 90fps. Your 3rd gen should be able to do pretty well with an overclock, especially since it's a i5 3570k, again, just depends if your motherboard supports it.

        • You will lose money on the 1070 (compared to what you paid for). You are better of just selling what you got (CPU + MB + DDR3, lets say you get 100 - 150 aud for it) you add 250 (this already costs 150) and buying a sc ryzen 1600 + b350 BM + some DDR4 (the price is falling) and you are set.

  • Deal is showing up no longer available for me :( damn!

    Waiting for another deal :(
Really not much happening for the new year regarding medium cards..bugga
