Well done on spotting that the quantity can be adjusted in cart, that makes this deal very useful.

    • I thought about reducing the number of tickets myself…. but stuff it. Got 10! ;-)

  • Did they fix the quantity? Mine says book of 10 x1 $90

    • +3

In the Events Cinema Checkout,, you can edit the number of tickets you want to purchase.

There is no option for Village Cinemas. If you click the X button in the cart, it empties it.

  • +1

Thanks, bought 10 anyway, very good value

  • Looks like you cannot purchase with Event's gift card… Have a $100 expiring next month

    Good price nonetheless!

    • Was hoping to use my 10% off event cards I bought from eBay UK!

    • That's going to be alot of movie watching for next few days

      • Or one movie and a large popcorn and drink amiright?

  • This eVoucher is only valid for use between 1 Jan 2019 – 1 July 2019

        • wtf

        • +3

someone forgot to log out and re-login

  • Appears only to work for event cinemas and not village?

    • +1

Yes that is a shame cannot buy less then 10 for the village cinema offer but the event cinema tickets can be modified

      • +1

It is still very cheap considering we Village sell the value pack (10 adult tickets) for $155

    • -5

surely you won't be watching many of those in just standard?

  • +1

These vouchers come with the requisite surcharges still?

    • +2

You can turn up at a cinema box office and buy tickets without extra fees. They will charge you to book online in advance.

      • +1

BS that they charge for those scenarios online. Understand passing on CC fee but surchargw to use vouchers is crazy

  • Thank you.

  • Thanks, op, bought two.

  • Thanks got 4

  • Thanks OP!

  • Damn I read it x10 event cinema tickets for $9 haha, thought to myself, I’d be losing money if I didn’t buy it, still a good deal nonetheless.

  • +3

Triggered my Amex wine, dine offer. $10 back. Sweet!
    Thanks OP 😉

    10 tickets for $70 split across 2 cards 😀

    • -3

I downvoted since I saw 2 people already downvote and I did not understand the comment (thought Bunnycat posted in wrong post) but now I understand about the Amex wine offer. Why was it downvoted for that?

I tried to remove my downvote but it did not work~

      • Dunno?
I only post if i think it can help others. Not offended by downvotes or negatives as i have no idea how they affect me anyhoo.

        • Haha my comment got downvoted when I was explaining what happened.
I dont mind the downvotes as well, since it doesn't really impact me. But I do find it interesting how people would downvote or upvote some comments. For example, in the 12 year Ozbargains post, people who were able to snag the limited items got downvoted alot due to other people getting upset they got the items instead.
          Oh well.

    • Thanks

    • Thanks mate for the suggestion. Didn't think about that offer.

  • +1

Don’t forget to use Cashrewards for telstra.

  • +1

Been a long time since I last went. I did not realize 3D was still a thing. They stopped selling 3D TVs long ago so I assumed the interest had come and gone.

  • +3

Good to stack up with current Amex wine dine shop offer
    5 vouchers for $35 @ $7 ea

    • Only for Event cinemas not Village, right?

    • Same. Thanks OP

  • Thanks Op

  • -1

Thanks OP. Purchased 6. Have a lot of movies I plan to watch in cinemas, but a number of them are so special they need to be gold class (How to train your dragon, Toy Story 4, etc). Exciting year for movies.

  • How much I need to pay if upgrade to a 3D or Vmax? Thanks

    • +1

Just tried to upgrade my standard $10 ticket to vmax to watch Bumblebee tomorrow and they were going to charge $8 extra :(

      • Where did u watch it at?

        • Planning to watch it tomorrow at Burwood NSW. But for that much extra, I decided to stick to the standard session. I remember the days when it used to be just $3 for an upgrade.

Edit: wait a sec, I was trying to book 2 tickets with my voucher. Maybe that's $8 for 2, so it's $4 per person

          • @Tamtim: Yeah that's probably why, Vic is still 3 I'm pretty sure

  • Should be $4 to upgrade to vmax in brisbane

  • Not valid at Village Cinemas in VIC / TAS.

    • Event eVouchers aren't but Village ones are :)

    • Source?

  • Thanks I grab 4.

  • +1

Not for use Friday or Saturday is a dealbreaker for me… that’s the only time I’ll ever go to the movies :(

    • +1

Use before 5pm on Friday or Saturday? :)

  • Not valid at Village Cinemas in NSW/QLD/SA/WA/NT. I'm out.

  • +3

    BE CAREFUL ABOUT VALIDITY

Event vouchers aren’t valid in Vic/Tas

Village aren’t valid except in Vic/Tas

  • Is village valid in vic?

    • +1

To the best of my understanding, yes, because I just bought 10 tickets.

      Thanks OP

    • +1

Answered above. Village valid in vic.

  • Has anyone received their tickets yet? My order confirmation says I should've received them within 30 mins, but it's been a few hours so just wanted to know if it was just me.

    • Same for me. Haven't receive mine as well.

      • I've just received mine! Hope yours come soon.

    • Tickets should be available to download instantly.

      • I just received emails just now with my vouchers. Ordered at 8am.

    • Same as me. I ordered it at 8.25AM and but nothing received.

  • Telstra thanks esavers only gives you 50 points instead of 100.

    • We don’t care it’s cheap anyway haha.

  • 6 mi th expiry just killed the deal for me. I'll pay the extra dollar or whatever the difference is as a Telstra customer for a movie ticket to go and see when I like.

  • +1

I tried to book online, it said voucher not found!!! why???

    • +4

Valid for redemption between 1 Jan 2019 - 1 July 2019, got it

      • +1

cannot even use the vouchers now to book for movies in Jan?

      • ok… it's 1st Jan, and my vouchers still 'not found'. Anyone able to assist please? Thx

  • wait so this offer is useless for event in QLD ? and offers Cash back ?

  • Crap, bought 4 tickets. Not valid for QLD

  • thanks bought 4 tickets.

  • Can anyone please confirm whether event cinema voucher is valid in Qld?

    • It is according to terms and conditions on Telstra and Event Cinemas websites:

This eVoucher is not available for use at Skyline Drive-In, Moonlight Cinema or Village Cinemas. Each unique barcode can be redeemed for one Adult or Student admission to any standard session at Event Cinemas, BCC, GU Film House & Greater Union locations.

  • Very nice deal. Definitely grabbing a few!

  • Are kids aged 7 - 11 able to use this Voucher ?

    • "valid for all humanoid/meatbag/non-cyborg lifeforms"

  • Do the new 3 year expiry laws on vouchers apply on these things? I know on the voucher it says 6 month expiry but by law they might last 3 years now?

    • +1

This is not a gift card

      • The laws also apply to vouchers

        • So… You know the answer, or you're asking us?

  • Every single time Event vouchers are posted this is mentioned.

    Exclusions -
A gift card or voucher sold for a particular good or service that is below the market value of the good or service (a genuine discount)

  • That is in nsw, I can't see an exclusion like that in the sa gov regulations

    • South Australia Fair Trading (Gift Cards) Regulations 2018 under the Fair Trading Act 1987

4—Prohibition on sale of gift cards with expiry date of less than 3 years—exceptions

Section 45D of the Act does not apply in relation to—
      (h) a card or voucher that—

      (i) is redeemable only for a particular good or service; and
(ii) is sold at a discount on the market value of the good or service that a reasonable person would consider to be a genuine discount on the market value of the good or service.

  • Anyone know if I can pay for these with a $50 Event Cinema Giftcard I bought from the 10% off eBay UK deal? Thank you.

    • +1

the payment page only has paypal and credit card

  • Can you not buy less than 10 vouchers now? If anyone wants to we can buy and split it since i only need 6.

    • For village cinema only 10x tickets can be purchased for the event tickets all you have to do is add the 10x tickets to basket then goto checkout and select the 6x tickets only there as described in the description on top of page

  • wait im a having a blonde moment so i can't use the telstra evouchers for NSW??
"Telstra: Not valid for use in New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Northern Territory."

  • Link for villiage does not work any more.

  • Where abouts on the website does it say they aren’t valid in QLD?

  • The Telstra page says "offer now expired "
