"Cannot be used after 5pm Friday and Saturday nights."

    • damn

  • +3

Good tip is to see if there are movies you're interested in watching before the tickets expire.

  • +5

Got 8 "free" tickets with the Cadbury chocolates promotion a while ago… the tickets had at least 6months expiry but there wasn't more than 1 movie worth seeing in those 6months - even at the price of free

    • +11

That’s alright. I could watch Avengers 4 four times.

      • -1

Black panther and Deadpool 2 were better.

        • +2

          Lol nah

        • +5

          Said noone ever.

        • hahahahaha, this comment made my day.

        • +1

Avengers 4 is yet to come out, so how can you judge those movies as better than it?

        • -4

I don't know anyone that thought Black Panther was actually good.

  • +1

Can they be used with NFT movies?

    • +1

    • From experience with similar vouchers in the past, even though the T&C’s don’t specifically mention NFT movies, I haven’t been able to book them (online at least).

      • (removed)

    • +1

Yes you can use these on NFT films - either online or over the counter. NFT literally means No Free Tickets - as in those you get by redeeming Cinebuzz points. eVouchers are by definition not free because you paid real money for them.

      • Sure, though I would still check the terms

  • Anyone know the VMax upgrade fee?
Can't find it on the website…

    • +1

i tried for grindelwald its +5 for vmax plus 1.50 booking fee

  • -4

Please don't give people cinema vouchers as presents…

    (Unless you hate them?)

    • Well we know what to give you for Xmas! Thankfully not everyone shares your taste… Village have been known to sell the odd voucher here and there.

    • They aren’t valid to use for a couple of months anyways

  • Are they hard copy tickets that they mail out or e-tickets?

  • Xmas prezzie for the kids, thanks! I saw Captain Marvel, Aladdin coming out next year around March so thats why I got it.. 😂

  • Be aware that last time the vouchers still incurred a 1.50 booking fee.

    • If not worried about selling out, you can use them in person and incur no booking fee.

  • +1

      • lol updated that last and saw your reply

        • Haha, was just reading it and thought, hang on, did I read your comment wrong?!

  • Nice deal OP, thanks. Got 10.

  • Thanks OP Got 30….can't watch movies alone, unfortunately.

  • +4

Add this to your post-OP if it helps (my selection hehe)

I don't generally see a problem for popular movies to go beyond 3 weeks of screening time especially when its on the holiday season/superheroes movies

Here are the movie list that I think its worth watching

    Movies Release Date Ratings
Spiderman:Into the spiderverse Dec 13 CTC

Not valid at Village Cinemas in VIC / TAS 🙁

    • +1

It literally is valid for Village Cinemas in VIC/TAS.

    • +1

You must've read the Ts & Cs for Event Cinemas at the bottom, but missed those for Village Cinemas at the top. Easy mistake to make.

  • Thanks! Grabbed 10. Wife will be happy.

Curious why cinema vouchers don't fall into the bucket with the new laws (in NSW, not sure about elsewhere) requiring vouchers and gift cards to have 3 year minimum expiry dates?

    • +3

There's an exemption to that rule if the gift vouchers are "genuinely discounted". I guess they could claim that is the case here.

  • 'Valid for use anytime except on Fridays & Saturdays from 5pm.'

    • That's a bit ridiculous, considering these are only $1 cheaper than the usual price for movies here in the Hunter (full-price tickets are $10 at Event Cinemas with a Cinebuzz membership here).

I'll be paying the 10% extra to not have time-based restrictions.

  • Could I buy the tickets if I'm not using any Telstra service? I checked out but failed, telling me there's an error with the transaction.

    • +1

I have no telstra accounts. I just followed the link and no dramas. Just had to sign up for Event gift shop, but that cost nothing.

  • +1

    village link not working ?

    • Link not working today. last night I tried to check out twice and was debited the amount from the bank, but the transactions failed and mentioned I will be refunded…

      • Links working again. Failed transactions refunded.

  • I take it these are digital vouchers and nothing tangible?

    • Yes. Received 10 separate individual emails shortly after ordering. I pity those poor sods who ordered 30, LOL.

      • ~_~ yes you summon me?

If you are printing from your Gmail….its a click of a button (hit the printer icon and it will print all the 30 emails.)

If you want to save paper you can print them 1/4 on A4 ^O^

  • village link is not working

    • Village link is now back up and running

  • +2

I tried reducing the number of tickets to 4 and it worked. Got the vouchers in my email within 5 mins.

I'm guessing it'll work with any number of tickets.

  • village must be desperate trying to compete with Hoyts product.

Hoyts refurbed cinemas and seats are now far more superior than village. leather reclining seats as standard has changed the game.

*edit, I am not actually associated with this Telstra promotion, but I have to tick the box to be able to make this post…

  • Nice

  • Thanks OP

  • Is anyone experiencing Warning - "Payment Declined"?

    • yup. same here.

    • Just successfully purchased — may be worth you trying again, unless you have already?

  • cannot book online. says voucher doesn't exist. today is Jan 1st. need to give them a call tomorrow

    • You get anywhere or they tell you to log a request through ticketing system? I get same message when trying to book

    • Same here, doesn’t work. And I can’t find the number to call them. Should I call telstra or events cinemas?

    • Sadly I can confirm your experience:

Ticket Selection ErrorThere is an issue with adding vouchers to your order. Please check and try again

Guess I'll try at the counter and hope to get the same result as myarken below.

      • +1

Update: started to work okay late last night.

As others have pointed out, be aware of the $1.40 booking fee per ticket.

        • You mean you can use on Village cinema online in Victoria? My one is not working neither online on on the counter.

          • @Oknaomi: That’s right, it’s now working online for me in Vic. Also, make sure it’s for a session that’s “not after 5 PM on Friday and Saturday”.

            • @Member 0230: I am trying to book today’s movie only. Also, not sure if you notice, on the e-ticket we received there is a fine print underneath the tickets saying it can not be used in village or moonlight cinema. I purchased the tickets via the Telstra thanks vouchers offer link. Also, are you just go to the village website to use the voucher?

              • @Oknaomi: I have a feeling you purchased Event Cinemas vouchers. Mine specifically says "Village Cinemas Screen Savers" in big bold print.

The first bit of my fine print says:

This eVoucher is only valid for use at Village Cinemas for movie sessions screening between 1st January 2019 and 1st July 2019. The Telstra Adult Screen eSaver book delivers ten (10) promotional vouchers. Each promotional voucher is valid for one movie session admission. Voucher can be redeemed online at villagecinemas.com.au or at the ticket box for movie session admissions at participating cinema locations*

I decided to use mine at the ticket counter today, saving myself 3 x $1.40 in booking fees.

                • @Member 0230: Thank you very much for your response. I feel the same too. But the thing is I indeed bought it via the Telstra thanks voucher link( by using the Telstra app) . Did you buy it from there? Also I just checked my email again, on the receipt I got it says: You have ordered:
                  10x $9.00 Telstra Thanks eVoucher

                  • @Oknaomi: I bought it via the OzB link at top of this page, where you have the ability to buy either the Village OR Event vouchers.

                    My vouchers look like this.

  • My 3 just worked at the counter. Doesn't work online and saves booking fee. Scanned off my mobile screen. Enjoy!

    • I missed a session as the cinema was almost full due to unable to book online … complaint to them and get email back after 10 days - all fixed
