    4K or no deal.

  • damn it i just bought that recently

Upvoted for the great price. But the 3D review on blu-ray.com only rated the 3D component at 3 stars. If you don't already have the 4K version, I will say go for it.

    https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Blade-Runner-2049-3D-Blu-ray/…

    • 4.5 stars you mean :)

      • +2

Video is 4.5 stars. But the 3D portion is only 3 stars.

        • I think that's for Special Features and Extras?

          • +1

@dins: Both 3D and extras are rated 3.0

            • @virtual81: Ah now I see it. I was looking at the reviewer's rating. My bad @sschen.

I already own the 3D Blu-ray and have seen it a couple of times and for mine defo better than 3 stars. I guess it varies depending on the 3D setup.

    • Added - the audio for Blade Runner 3D is DD 5.1, instead of a lossless format.

  • Saw this, on bought it on iTunes for $9.99.. 4K

Why didn't you post the deal?

      • Already mentioned in the comments of another deal.

      • There seem to be a tonne in my wish list on iTunes randomly on sale. Baby Driver 4k is $9.99 too, with 15% off iTunes going on at coles, brings it to $8.50

Got cars 2 and 3 (already had first so worked well)

    Thanks for posting :)

I'd rather just rent and watch it once. I rarely watch a movie twice unless it's good.

    • +4

      This is good.

      • +2

        Your baseline is good

Like "Good" good or Last Jedi good?

        • Last Jedi sucked so hard I didn't even see it. For reference I have been a Blade Runner AND Star Wars fan since they hit the cinemas in the 70's/80's. Star Wars is now dead to me and they will not be getting any more of my money. It started with the contempt that Lucas had towards his fan base with 'Ewoks'. The prequels were simply him taking a huge dump on what came before (even though we actually paid money to see them in the theatre hoping that each one would come good and that the previous one was just a miscalculation. Silly me, got scammed thrice.) So then the thought the Abrhams reboot might be worth a look…nope. OK it was 'better' than the prequels but it was still crap. The last one we saw was Rogue one, which was still crap but had they great DV scene at the end. :) The only redemption out of the whole mess has been Adywans fan remakes of TLH and ESB with RTJ on the way and Mr Plinkett's Phantom Menace reviews.

On the other hand I went into BR 2070 expecting it to be crap or to somehow dump all over the original film but came away pleasantly surprised. It actually built onto the original quite nicely and while it was a story that didn't 'need' to be told it was a nice add on, and even at 3 hours long didn't feel like a long haul to watch. Not sure what future movies will bring but I will keep watching as long as they are telling me a good story.

@EightImmortals: Ok sounds like I might need to watch the original BR first?

            • @BargainKen: Yeah wouldn't hurt. Might take a couple of watches to 'get it' though, try it when you are in a relaxed state of mind with no distractions. :)

          • @EightImmortals: I think it was a bit of a box office failure so Ridley Scott will be shelving it like Prometheus. It lost out even to Happy Death Day during opening weekends. That's gotta hurt.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: Yeah I remember that. But hey, a box office failure these days is a good indicator that the movie is worth watching. :)

Thanks for posting a deal for 3d movies. I also dont collect movies much anymore but go out of my way to get 3d ones. There are plenty of haters but with the barely noticable difference 4k makes over FHD I would rather 3d that 4k.

    • +3

Same here 3D over 4K for me. I mean 4K is great but a good 3D flick always makes me go wow. I guess it depends on the 3D setup.

    • Am I missing something? How do you watch 3D? Do you need special glasses or something?

      • Just a dimension. You're whole set up needs to be 3D including glasses.

      • Buy a tv that supports 3d, it may come with special glasses or you may need to buy some. Then buy a bluray player and a bluray 3d movie. Thats the official way at least.

        • It'll have to be a second-hand TV. They don't manufacture them any more.

          • @Massive Flog: Shouldnt be too hard still, and you are up for a discount :)

      • A decent 3D projector is the way to go for mine. Usually much better than at the movies or a 3D telly. BenQ makes some good ones at reasonable prices.

*** be MINDFUL of the Disney 3D titles **

They in most cases will be Single 3D only - skimping out on the Blu-ray extras. A habit that Disney frequently does will all 3D titles

I hope they bring back 3d to TVs in the future. I'll be hanging on to my LG OLED C6 as long as possible, even with slight dreaded screen burn

    • The tip is that when it does you may not need glasses and might not even need a special tv. Google Steam Networks ultra-d that was demoed at CES this year.

  • Anyone know where you can get Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2 in 3D ? Have a Nephew that is keen but i cant find it at a decent price anywhere, all $60+

    • Must be out of print? I picked them up at JB a couple of years ago, cheap as chips. Cheapest by far from a quick search (second hand, but apparently good condition):
