    (New Subscribers)

It doesn’t work if you have a current subscription

  • I bought a Kindle, can i subscribe to this then active my 6 month subscription? I need to active my sub by the 31st of Jan.

    • I just bought a new kindle - didn't see anything about 6 months free?

      • I have a fake US address on file and the email for 6 months free showed up 3 days after I registered my Kindle.

    • I think that's USA only and if you bought via Amazon directly

      • I got my Kindle through the Good Guys deal.

        • Damnit, me too but never received 6 months offer. Maybe your Amazon account is linked to US?

  • If you cancel the subscription do the books erase of the kindel ?

      Yep

      Calibre

      • Agree. Calibre + torrent. Is that a dirty word here?

Piracy isn't supported. The DRM removal plug-in is useful to keep your purchases safe. If you don't remove all the DRM and kindle change formats, cease to trade then you have lost your paid content.

  • This would just be unlimited access to the books right? I mean anything you got during this 3 months would not be readable when the subscription expires presumably? (unlike kindle books you buy when not subscribed)

It is a subscription, you dont pay then You dont have access

  • Great deal if you want to read a lot of books in the "Kindle Unlimited" Collection. Be aware that this isn't every book in the Kindle library however (not many, if any best sellers are included). Still good value!

    • definitely not paying full price for this service, not many 'best seller' listed… This is not the 'Netflix' of e-book.

Can I keep the books by cancelling and switching my Kindle to airplane mode?

    • Sounds like a plan

    • So you’ll forever keep your kindle on airplane mode?

Found a link for the US version of the same deal here on this page:

    https://www.techbargains.com/deal/433133/amazon-kindle-unlim…

  • Free with Prime membership?

    • Not the same

  • I tried it with the Prime eval…poor selection of books. Better to use your local library ebook service (often they subscribe to ebook library services like Bolinda

    • Yeah not quite unlimited

    • Prime and unlimited are not the same

Can anyone suggest a DRM removal tool/app etc that works (preferably free)? Also for spotify DRM removal?

  • Worldwide publishing is so tied up in rights (and not copyright, but publishers protecting their sales regions) you can't buy physical books from Amazon UK, Kindle seems US content only. Rubbish. C'mon Amazon use your size to break these archaic centuries old restrictions!

  • The problem with Kindle unlimited is they have a small selection of GOOD books, the rest are just flybynight ebook authors. Scribd for $10/mo = millions of high quality books, unlimited reads. Kindle Unlimited = napster. Scribd = Spotify.

  • I’ve just discovered that the Echo can read Kindle books to you. It’s not as nice as Audible, but it works.

One limitation is you can only 'book out' 10 books. It works like a library - you have to return read books to get more.

$13.99 per month feels like about what I spend on kindle already. And I can keep them forever!
