Hero 2018 if you need a screen, otherwise this would be just the same.
Gopro Hero 5 session does 4k recording, but Hero 2018 doesn't. Hero 2018 is the same as Hero 7 white besides a little screen at the front

@easternculture: One of the major advantage of Hero 2018 is you can change with a spare battery if you run out the juice, but with session you can only plug in to recharge it. Session ia much more compact and I only use it during day time mostly staying on my motorbike helmet. Just bought one.
@Juniormin: Juniormin is go pro on motorbike helmet legally allowed? Also how have you it placed it on your helmet? Any links would be appreciated. TIA.
@Smokey010: I'm not sure about other states but in SA mounting a camera on helmet is not a problem. There is a curved mount comes with the camera that you can stick on the helmet in front of you chin or even mounted on top or side, depends what you prefer.

just to let you know Hero 7 has HyperSmooth roller-shutter correction which is spectacular technology, similar to a gimbal. you would otherwise have to purchase the Hero 5 and a gimbal to get the same result. a Hero 7 might just be the same price.
i recommend you read reviews and youtube the differences, HyperSmooth is unreal! i just don't want anyone to regret it after buying the older model.
Fair point, but a slightly different product. The session has no screen so is a much smaller form factor. Plus the price point is better than even the white 7.
Also worth mentioning that only the Hero 7 Black comes with HyperSmooth, other models don’t have this feature.
Seems like quite a few reviews with camera freezing issues though ….
And Hero 7 black cost 3 times more…
Amazing camera, love that you can rotate it in the frame to shoot at odd angles.
Mostly the same as the 5 Black (which is still better than the 7 Silver/White) but without GPS or swap-able batteries
Does anyone recommend a waterproof housing for this? Would love to take it diving? Would it do a decent job, I am not wanting to turn pro or anything, just wondered if this will do the job?

I recommend the SanDisk Extreme, Lexar 633x or Samsung Evo Plus or Evo Select microSD cards - 64GB gives you around 2 1/2hrs of 4K or 5hrs of 1080p video
Does Samsung Evo Plus/Evo Select work with the session 5?? It doesn't list the compatability on the gopro website so I was a bit hesitant to rush out and buy it at Officeworks which matched Harvey Norman
I’m currently using all of the above cards for 4K with no issues; pretty sure the Evo plus/select are recommended on some of their cameras
