I don't call a good capitalist lapdog, I call more like a cheap whore :p

I wouldn't buy it from harvey if it was only $10.

      • +2

Why would you spend more to buy the same thing?

        • Because price is not the only measure when considering something that holds your personal data and you need to consider who is selling it from you when the price is lower than expected.

Harvey Norman there is almost always a dishonest reason if items are cheaper. In this case, if it was $10 it probably means they dropped the pallet of stock and cracked half of the cards so you will be risking your data.

In my repeated experience with several stores (due to poor timing on purchasing goods for a renovation) they treat us like pests when trying to get items repaired (nearly everything was faulty in some way). for electronic goods I spent over an hour being seated at the coburg store for goods that were without a doubt faulty (confirmed by the manufacturer in writing) I was told by the store manager that handling warranty was too much hassle for him and it was not worth them assisting so unless I was willing to upgrade to something else (triple the price). Harvey Norman stores operate as independent businesses and most store manages are crooks at heart, looking for the faster way to make a dollar off you. If something is on clearance there is a reason, something is likely wrong with it, and even if it was ok, you have no real warranty with Harvey, i've found ebay stores usually better on handling warranty.

Better to risk a fake online than deal with them.

          • @paulojr: Yep at least Paypal will get your money back. Gerry will use it to bribe the liberal party.

So you're willing to buy a fake online for something that holds your personal data?

When buying something that holds my personal data I like to consider who is selling it because if it is fake I could lose all my data on the device. If it also comes with malware I could lose all my personal data from any device I connect it to. If I don't lose it there's a chance hackers could gain access to my personal data just because I was too stubborn and purchased a fake online instead of from a reputable store.

confirmed by the manufacturer in writin

So why didn't you let the manufacturer handle the warranty?
You can claim a remedy directly from the manufacturer.

I was told by the store manager that handling warranty was too much hassle for him

            Sure…

The maximum penalties per breach of the ACL for corporations, will be the greater of:
            *$10 000 000
*three times the value of the *benefit received, or
*10% of annual turnover in preceding 12 months, if court cannot determine benefit obtained from the offence.

Handling a warranty is easy compared to an ACL beach.

you have no real warranty with Harvey

Except for the manufacturer and statutory warranty.

          • @paulojr: What a load of piffle.

I'd rather buy a generic fake knockoff microSD card that'll never actually arrive from Joybuy than spend money at Harvey Norman.

  • Anyone know if this card will play nicely with a Blackvue dash cam (DR650)?

    • +1

I have DR900S dual channel with this card and it works fine!

      • Great! Thanks mate.

    • +2

Supposedly not the best for it - something to do with multi-layer vs single-layer or something…

The "better" ones for dash cams and continuous record/rerecording are the Sandisk and Samsung Endurance ranges.

      • Yep 3 dashcams with these cards continously recording few hours most days for the last few years. Never had a problem yet

    • I've had this same one in my DR750S-2CH for five months and had no problems.

  • Office works price beat?

Dubious warranty though. Card made in China?

    • How do you get that price? I’m seeing $32.95 on my phone (have eBay plus). Am I missing something?

      • Less 20% using code PLUGIT20

          Thanks :)

  • I still didn’t get over the amazon 20 pack saga. I got nothing!!

    • The key was to chat to them over the phone.. in the end Amazon paid me $30 to take two 64gb SD cards off their hands

  • Any one know if it is class10?

    • It's is definitely class 10. Cheers

  • Okay for the switch?

    • I am waiting for a 256 for my switch.

  • I'm told for Navman MIVUE740 a Samsung micro so card is best used for this item, anyone know of good deals on smaller cards

  • Jeez at that price it’s hardly normal

  • Yeah I despise them too, but like a good capitalist lapdog I put my morals aside for cheap items I want.

They've been doing this for years now. Just detects and personalises based on where you click through from

  • Buy 11. Return 10. Take the Amex offer. Profit. Even so, I still can't walk into a HN. If it hurt HN more than Amex I'd be all for it.

    • There's no guarantee they'll allow a change of mind return.

  • How are they "out of stock" I had the web page open 2 min ago and it said that my local store had stock. Now magically theyve run out of stock in all of Australia?

    • wow true, seems bs to me, maybe there was only a certain amount allocated for the cheaper price e_e

      • perhaps, or maybe its the typical BS that HN pulls! I wasn't planning on buying from them anyway but i was planning on a OW price match. Looks like next cheapest is Umart @ $39 ($37.05 OW PM)

  • Stock still left at Fyshwick store ACT for pickup https://www.domayne.com.au/samsung-evo-plus-128gb-micro-sdxc…

  • All the stores near me (5112 SA) all have stock listed online.

Officeworks have price-matched so no need to give money to Gerry.

  • All Officeworks in Sydney CBD out of stock, so I got JB in the Galeries to match HN. Pity they don't offer +5% like OW do.

    • All OW near me in Box Hill VIC out of stock, and most HN out of stock too. Just got one at Richmond HN. $33. Free 2hr parkingin street behind BridgeRd.

  • Saw it on Office Works website Samsung Evo Plus 128GB with sd card adapter for $33.

    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/samsung-ev…

Tried adding into the shopping cart but upon check out they said it's out of stock online.

Went into Morley WA, Office works store and they informed me all the stores in Perth is out of stock for Samsung Evo Plus 128GB including their warehouse which processes online orders.

They informed me there are back orders and will be arriving on 10 Jan 2019 or so. Gave me a quote for $33 so the price will remain the same for 30 days even if it goes back up.
