Bought it for the upcoming trip just to get this Promo code afterwards!
Pros: It can do English to Japanese / Chinese / Spanish offline. Very fast. Accurate translation. Works offline. Cute sound.
Cons: Pricey (RRP $199USD). One-way translation (cannot translate back to English - in this model).
PS. I know Google translate is free but ili (after research and a long consideration) is much more convenient.
There's a youtube on this. So basically the video says you should try to frame your question for them to answer in yes or no or hand gestures.

Yes, I often carry my desktop with me to Japan, I usually only walk around with a small 20inch monitor rather then my larger one!
Please revoke your ozbargain membership if you purchase this product. Plenty of other ways to translate for free without purchasing this product.
So if it's output is voice only, I have to hand this to person I'm trying to speak to, or shove this at their head? In a bar/restaurant/busy street this is impractical vs a screen with written google translate on it.
I see a few of these style devices on kickstarter but have yet to see a really effective one.
I can see the benefit if it was two way translation but with google translate conversation option, I dont see why anyone would buy this.
