Well when I was making this post, ozbargain was telling me that it's my first post.
Anyway, I wasn't aware that fullstops aren't allowed, and Ebay can't be spelled with an uppercase E and all that shit. Perfectly. They use standard SATA connectors. You wouldn't get a nice speedy M.2. drive but one of the SATA 550MB/s ones would be plenty.

Correct. Benchmarks show that the difference with an SSD in PS4 load times in almost all games is minimal. Particularly compared to the gains that are seen in a PC.
It's not the HDD read that slows down the PS4 loading. Better off (value wise) with a large standard drive. External is also perfectly fine and has next to zero speed drop.

The staff checked it for me. And I saw it for myself as well. You can find the model on the bottom of the box. It starts with CUH.
@Sungrower: Ah right, C&C so you went in person. Sounded like you got confirmation somehow right after ordering through eBay haha. I guess the model might depend on the store you bought it from and their stock?

@antonlabz: It took less than 10mins for the order to be ready. And yes I did do C&C after confirming the model with the staff from the store that I was going to pick my console up.

The main thing is that it's supposed to be extremely quiet compared to previous models, that and (I think) just generally better hardware?

Sick of listening to my OG glacier white sounding like a jet engine every day and sick of not having an actual eject button after I removed mine to cure the random eject issues that were prevalent in those earlier models.
Yes, mine ejects discs and goes into rest mode randomly. Then when it finally powers on I get warning messages that I didn’t shut down correctly and that my external hard drive needs fixing.
So frustrating!
