    Meals and entertainment included!

Weird call out. Which other full service carrier doesn’t offer this?

Also, when you say ‘new premium economy product’, is it any different form what they had for the past few years on the A350?

Have used them on 4 legs earlier this year, the best PE cabin I’ve flown in so far!

China Airlines has excellent customer/cabin service. You are probably mistaking it for Air China (based out of PRC instead of Taiwan)?

So you only fly Qantas? Track record in recent years is very good. Taiwan and airline safety in general is very different from 10+ years ago. Have not been able to fault their 'service' to be honest, especially in PE which is a small cabin with a dedicated crew and 2 impeccably kept bathrooms.

@INFIDEL: Bad history. The airline revamped their training program and things improved. Personally not too concerned.

One of the best service airline. Business is top notch and excellent lounge.

Chine Airline, Singapore Air, and China Airlines are amongst the team's favourite for work trips. Qantas only if timing is more convenient and/or not overly expensive.

      • Yet, China Airlines used to be known as one of the unsafest airlines. I still remember days when China Airlines crashed their flights almost every year.

    • Think of Eva Air, they are pretty much at the same level (both are Taiwanese airlines)

  • Hey OP, do you know if you can book to depart December 2019, return jan 2020?

    • Only open up to Nov2019. Already check for Christmas 😀

  • How early can you book a flight, that departs in December 2019?

12 months from the date of your return flight. I went through this same experience last year.

Tempting but too many stories about people’s feet next to your face in Chinese carriers.

    • +1

China airline funny enough is actually a Taiwanese airline so you would expect Taiwanese rather than Chinese:)

      • +1

Yeah I get it. But Sydney to Vancouver is a very long flight to end up hating life. So will pass on this.

        • +1

It’s premium economy. There’s so much leg space, you probably won’t even notice other people’s feet.

Honestly, China Airlines is INCREDIBLE. Even in Economy I rate them on par with Emirates for service. They often go from Taiwan to Syd and then on to AKL/CHC so you get them trans-Tasman on their A330s, and yeah, very nice.

Now update that to the new A350, as well as premium economy, you're certainly not going to hate it :)

      • I really wish they could alter their name somehow haha..the level of service and reputation are at a completely different level

        • It's somewhat complicated as Taiwan's official name is Republic of China, the "China" is referred as People's Republic of China.

Chinese, less so for taiwanese, are one of the most inconsiderate people on earth. Not all of them but mostly the 40+ generation or people from rural china.

My biggest pet peeve is pushing in. I can't fatham the logic in trying to push their way to the front of the airplane doors on a aisle fit for 1 person whilst everyone is getting their luggage.

There's no sense of order. There's no common courtesy. It's disgusting. Speaking of which, toe nail clipping on board an airplane… yep. I hope no one sleeps with their mouth open on that flight.

Also no amount of noise cancellation is going to get rid of that constant snot sniffling. Also on the rare occasion you've gotten used to it and just about to nod off, out comes the most loudest obnoxious disgusting sound of them clearing their throat from all the snot build up.

Yep. Have fun on that flight.

I'm typing this in Austria having flown premium economy with them here for $1700 which is crazy price I think for a Christmas fare.

Great food and service, highly recommended.

  • Tldr - China Airlines has a great economy product, is premium economy even worth it??

I've also flown with China Airlines this holiday season in the a350 and then one of their reasonably new Boeing aircrafts. London -tiepei- Brisbane.

I booked economy and noticed premium economy was only about $1000 more return and I was very tempted. My partner was like no, so stuck with economy.

I was really happy with their economy product, much better than Air China and I'd say on par with etihad. The premium economy didn't look much flasher, so to be honest I don't know if it would even be with the extra $500 each way on a London - australia flight.

Haven't looked at the price difference between economy and premium on the Australia Vancouver route

  • Checked for December - 19 hour stopover = at least 38 hour flight

Go enjoy Taipei, you would love it

Flew with CA Premium Ecomony this year to Europe. A350 was very comfortable and service was very good. I will definitely fly again.

  • Booked using OP's link in July, thanks for this deal.

EDIT: DAMMIT, these have gone down even more to $16xx ……
