[VIC] LG 55" C8 OLED55C8 $2099 @ Myer (Melbourne City, Bourke St)

160

I saw this C8 55" for $2099 at Myer Emporium Melbourne City today. Cheapest in a while especially if you bought some Myers gift cards when it was 15% off.

  • I talked jb hifi down to $2100 for my 55inch c8 about two weeks ago. So if you can't get one from here try them.

  • Saw the C8 for $1999 at HN down In Tassie on Boxing Day. Still didn’t buy it with $250 of Amex credits on top…..Not due for an upgrade for another year or so…happy enough with the Hisense N7.

    • Whhhaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttt. Are you sure it wasn't the B8 you are thinking of?

  • Myer doesn't have any stock but I managed to get TGG to match it.

  • still waiting for the 65" to drop.. like really hard

    • Yes but that will break it wouldn't it?

  • Just make sure to do your research before considering the LG OLED's.

There is a fault discovered by owners on ALL 2018 LG OLED’s has been discovered.

They have 'near black flashing issues'.

    • Let's hope they fix it. If I end up having the issue on mine which I haven't seen yet anyone know if they can be returned ?

      • I've had the flashing near black issue since new (2 months ago). It's annoying but not enough to make the TV unwatchable. I don't think this is an issue that develops over time, but is triggered by certain near black compressed content. Hopefully it can be fixed with a firmware update.

Other gripes with the C8 are image retention and that screen uniformity is not uniform.

The contrast and true black is great though.

        • image retention can be calibrated away with settings. Look it up on youtube for best settings.

Near black flashing issues are not a massive problem with the TV, i'd doubt you would see it unless you were watching specific content and looking for it.
