  • Nice, any suggestions for beginner what I should get?

    • A good reliable and quality reel I would suggest Shimano Stradic FK

      • +2

Yes I've heard they're reely good.

        • Just make sure the seller doesn’t try to bait and switch.

      • I'm very noob, what should I look for in a reel or rod.

I'm looking to fish from the pier/beach.

        • Shimano Sienna 2500 and Catana 702 rod. But honestly you should just go and buy from your local tackle shop. The knowledge you'll gain far outweighs the little bit you save here.

@OzAmore: Somewhat agree with ozamore. Stradic is a really nice reel, but for a beginner i would suggest a cheaper rod/reel setup. Then upgrade and get nice gear :)

sedona is a nice beginner real step up from the sienna. same as the daiwa legalis/exceller.

Beach rod would be ideal to get something 9-10 ft at least. Otherwise for estuary/pier 7ft like ozamore mentioned is more than fine.

I suggest circle hooks over J hooks as studies indicate that when utilised correctly circle hooks have a higher catch rate than J hooks.

  • They've excluded rods this year. Normally its for both rods and reels:(

  • Tackle, rods hehe

  • It shows as 25% off reels on website? So at 12am it will apply at cart? or will there be a code?

I just pulled trigger on ci4+ at motackle during their 15% off, seems this is way better, stradic ci4+ 4000 is at 239 after 25% will be 179, what a steal :D

    • The sale starts from the midnight, no code request.

Personal experience I don’t suggest any ci4 rotor bigger than 3000 size. Stradic ci4 1000-3000 such are awesome reels, but soon the size becomes to 4000, the rotor shape will change too much under a pressure, just stick with a normal stradic if you need a 4k reel.

      • This applies to new stradic ci4? I thought they fixed warp or weak body with this iteration?

        • Any of ci4 rotors, not only stradic.

  • Some things ive been keeping an eye on, seem like the prices are either inflated so that the 25% off brings it down to normal prices or that this website is just more expensive than others.

    • So the current price is the 25% off? Just wanting to know if i should cancel my motackle order?

      • Don’t think the 25% started yet.

    • Tell me where you can find a normal price like:
      Shimano Stella 5000 HG $674.25
      Daiwa Saltiga 4000H $824.25

  • Either the 25% off hasn't started yet. Or the already discounted price is a massive rip-off and no difference to other stores

OP is right. 25% off current price. Woah good deal man lol. Stradic ci4 179$ or like op mentioned stellar 679

      • Can confirm the price is now $179 for stradic ci4. Thanks OP :)

  • Managed to snag a Stradic Ci4+ for 179$ Yipee. My second stradic. THANKS OP!

  • Great price on the Shimano Chronarch. If only I hadn't bought that new telly.

  • Thank you OP. just bought my second Shimano Saragosa 100000sw. Perfect for the kayak reeling in heavy snapper.

You know you can your 100000 size saragosa as your kayak anchor too lol
