  • Fine for an iPhone 7+?

    • This is in the deal description

BC1.2 & Apple Fast Charge Protocol:
It means your Apple devices can be fast charging just like using the original Apple iPad charger (up to 5V/2.4A Max). It is also compatible with
all non-QC devices and will charge at their normal charging speed (up to 5V/2A Max).

      • Yeah read that but just wondered if that referred to the new iPhones. Will buy one!

  • As per usual this is misleading and confusing. My guess is that no single port provides 30w. The Max will be about 12wso only good for phones and not laptops?

    • +2

You'll need a USB PD charger if you want to charge a laptop.

    • +8

My guess is that no single port provides 30w

No need to guess, the description is clear about the power available through each port:
      18W(Max) QC3.0 Port + 12W(Max) 2.4A Port

    • It literally says peak is 24w in the description.

  • +1

    Support Huawei supercharge?

    • Doubt it, otherwise it will mention FCP in the description.

It will at best charge at 5v 2a

      • Huawei have 2 different fast charging protocols. FCP is basically QC 3.0 while SuperCharge is up to 5V/5A.

        • SCP gen 2 supports up to 10v4A now, featured on the latest mate 20 pro

          • @Mostly Melbourne: I remember reading about that ages ago but didn't realise it was out already. 40W is impressively good. That'd be like half an hour charge?

    • +1

It will support Huawei Fast charge protocol but not their super charge protocol.

I have 4 of these chargers.

2 x bought in 2016 does NOT support Huawei FCP.

2 x bought in 2018 supports Huawei FCP but not super charge like I said.

The 2016 and 2018 chargers are slightly different on the labelling but is otherwise physically identical on the outside.

Surpsingly the new chargers will FCP with my Huawei Mate 10 but will NOT FCP with my new imported Huawei Mate 20x - so I assume it will not work with any of the Huawei Mate 20 range. I do not know why this is the case. I have an original Huawei FCP charger (non supercharge) that WILL FCP with my Mate 20x so I assume there is some proprietary business going on in the background.

  • I got one of these really good . I can charge my Xiaomi 20000mah power bank from flat in 6 hours with QC3

  • Would this fast charge Google Pixel 3 XL?

    • +1

I don't think so. The pixels use usb pd for fast charge.

  • +1

Does this support OnePlus quick charge?

    • +1

Nope, only genuine OnePlus or Oppo vooc chargers support dash charge

  • I'm so mad I literally just received my $19 one :(

    • +1

      BW-S11?

      That one has a 5V 2.4A + USB PD.
      This one isn't USB-PD

      • Yep - been waiting for that one to go on sale! I too think PD+USB has more bang for the buck.

      • The PD on that model is limited to 9V for some reason! while that won't be an issue for phones, it will limit larger devices (e.g. tablets, etc.) from being able to charge effectively/at all. Just worth checking what minimum voltage your devices will need.

  • I have an old Nexus 5X with a broken original charger. The original shows an Output of 5.0V 3.0A for fast charge. I am guessing this would be a poor fit as both available ports are mismatched by either giving lower or higher output. Please help if you know more about this stuff.

    • From the product page.

Note: BW-S6 does not support fast charge for Nexus 5x.

  • Hi friends,

I'm waiting on one of these ubiquitous EU plug babies from AliExpress, that I got for US$2.45. Anyone have any experience with one of them?

I also got this whiz-bang do it all for the car for just over a US$1. Seems too good to be true but I saw so many bad reviews of others I thought I'd forefeit a day of pre-drought fresh milk.

    • Based on the output specs on that car charger I guarantee you won't get the full 18W out of the QC 3.0 port with the others under load. There is even the chance it won't pull 18W just for that one port either.

      • Yeah, I'm used to that. It says single port only but as you say, they might be exaggerating even then. On the plus side, it might save me from blowing a fuse ;)

    • +1

Plenty of reasons (fire, electrocution, insurance, etc) not to use cheap no-brand transformers. You may save $10, but at an increased risk of failure. I wouldn't do it. You get unreliable quality and unreliable performance/output.

I also wouldn't get a $50 one from Jbhifi etc. These ~$15/$20 ones for me offer no increased risk over any other charger while being at a good price.

  • +2

Make sure you are not in a hurry as I'm still waiting patiently for mine. Plan on using as an additional charger for an iPad 9.7" I picked up during those November sales.

Admittedly they waited a month (29th Dec) before telling me the lightening cable I ordered with it wasn't in stock and would I like to wait or ship it/refund it etc.

    https://imgur.com/a/QMEKsL8

So it actually got shipped around the 2nd of Jan and we'll see when it arrives :)

    • +1

Did the cables happen to be blitzwolf ones? I ordered a pair of Ampcore turbo Lightning and Micro USB ones and they both got canceled at the end of december :S

      • +1

Why yes it was, BlitzWolf® AmpCore Turbo BW-MF10 2.4A Braided Lightning Charging Data Cable 6ft with MFI. I let it go on back-order as I'm in no hurry.

        • Quick update, received my BlitzWolf BW-S6 today which I am super surprised with as it only shipped on the 2nd apparently. Above cable still listed as on back order and due in stock late Jan 2019.

  • I’m not sure how wall usb chargers and cables work. I have an iphonex with the normal apple wall charger and cable and i’m looking for something that charges quite fast, will the normal apple cable be ok to use with this bw-s6 for a fast charge or will i need another cable for a faster charge if so what cable does everyone recommend? Or should i wait for the bw-s11 to come back in stock? Thanks.

For fast charging via wired, the 5V 2.4A port will be fine for you :)
This is available on both BW-S6 and the BW-S11.

      Difference between S6 and S11 is the USB-A QC3.0 port is traded for a USB-C USB-PD port.

will the normal apple cable be ok to use with this

Yes it will be, although apple cables are quite flimsy.
If you want a more sturdy cable I recommend the blitzwolf ones (when they go on sale)

      • Which would you recommend for phone and ipad charging S6 or S11

        • +1

For iPhone and iPad charger, S6.
          Cheaper than S11 :)

  • +1

    Buyer beware!

My order which shipped 30th October has still not arrived 2+ months down the track.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/412550

The expected delivery date is 7/12/18 and we're now almost a month past that as well.

I've been ignored by the rep here and also on Banggood who have ignored all my messages. Never had an issue with previous Banggood orders.

The lack of recourse is extremely disturbing and I cannot recommend this seller.

    • All three of mine have arrived.
Sorry to hear yours is missing.

For what it's worth, mine was shipped from Tamworth, so it looks like they ship it to someone local and they then send it out from there via Auspost.

      Did you launch a dispute?

      • Yep credit card charge back is my next option.

Sad I have to resort to it.

Especially as in the past I have proactively posted their deals on merit where existed.

  • They charged me total $16.44 (GoodsServicesTax $1.50 AUD)???

    • +1

      Black is $13.49 plus $1.35 GST = $14.84.
      White is $14.94 plus $1.49 GST = $16.43.
      I'm guessing you chose white?

  • +2

These are very good. I've bought a whole bunch for the house, office and staff as I got sick of people running around asking for chargers. These and uniball pens.

  • Can this fast-charge Note9 and S8+?

    • I can verify it fast charges the S8+. I have been using it for months, which I purchased through a previous OzBargain deal.

    • Yes both are using Samsung Adaptive Fast Charge which is basically QC 2.0 rebranded.

  • 8 Port USB QC 3.0 Type-C Desktop Wall Charger Smart LED Display Charging Station | AU$ 29+
    —> https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/283316132092

    i recommend this USB charger, which has a lot of ports (6 x USB 2.0, 1 x QC 3.0, 1 x USB-C)

    AND

it has a voltage/ampere LED display too :-)

    • +4

That thing is 40W total across all 8 ports.

    • edit it

    • +2

If the QC 3.0 was at full load (18W) and the USB-C was at 5V/3A (15W) that leaves 7W for everything else…. yeah this is a very poorly designed charger in every way.

      • +1

It genuinely looks like the type of charger you'd see responsible for a house fire on the news.

  • Thanks OP. Going to buy another. They work great!

    • Yep for this price its a bargain (aside from people who can't read and can't interpret numbers… waaaaah my macbook lololol).

  • +6

Going with the theme of questions in this thread. Can this charge my Tesla?

  • -4

On the 31st I paid $13.01 for this (not including GST of $1.3) which would make this a worse deal

    • +1

Thanks for posting it up as a deal on the 31st..?

      • -1

i didnt think it was a great deal tbh

      • It would have been too late for me. I paid $15.41 when this deal was on.

  • Still waiting for a charger that has 2x QC ports with native AU (or CN) pins, like the BW-PL3.

  • +1

My experiences so far with Banggood have been terrible and have had numerous deliveries not turn up and/or have to follow up to see where the item is and find out that it is at a newsagents to be collected but have never received any notification.

I now no longer suggest banggood to anyone and you are better off paying the extra 5-10% elsewhere and know that your parcel is going to be delivered.

Does anyone know if Banggood ship to a parcel locker? If they shipped to a parcel locker it would at least make it easier to track the items.

    • Yes they ship to parcel lockers. You'd struggle to find stores that don't as it's not a PO box.

    • +2

Does anyone know if Banggood ship to a parcel locker? If they shipped to a parcel locker it would at least make it easier to track the items.

China warehouse + normal/priority mail = Auspost (via distribution centre in syd)

China warehouse + express (usually ~$20) = Can be a mix of couriers

Au warehouse = usually comes via fastway.

Source, spent thousands at BG and ive never lost a package (touch wood)

      • Yes I think it is more a problem with Fastway than Banggood, but still means that it is not worth buying from them.

    • If item contains battery, don't use parcel locker as they might reject it

  • Thanks OP also got a charger cable too
