  • Hang on, if it's $40 + P&H and you receive a $40 cheque. You're paying postage and handling (which I am not sure on pricing). Best to be clear that it's not 'free' after all.

Also to post the Cash Back Claim there is no reply paid address. Hence add the additional $0.60 postage as well!

In Melbourne, from the last MyChemist Catalogue, it is being sold for $40.95, essentially costing $0.95 after cashback. So if unless your postage is less than $0.95, it won't be a great bargain.

Also at least the MyChemist ones does not come with any test strips (usually they come with 10), so you need to buy them separately.

    • "So if unless your postage is less than $0.95, it won't be a great bargain."

      Not sure your point.
You paid $40.95 for the product, and $0.95 for postage, get $40 back. That means you have paid $1.90 to get the product. Isn't it a bargain?

      • It is a comparison with MyChemist Price. At MyChemist it is $40.95. Hence unless their postage is less than $0.95, which will make the total less than $40.95, it will not be cheaper than MyChemist.

  • nice, got one for my mum! 10.95 postage was a bit of a rip…but hey…you get a blood glucose monitor from a reputable brand….a lot better than spending $20 from some Chinese bargain shop in Campsie for a chinese brand :)

    • btw…how come i didn't get a confirmation email? or a order number?

  • Hi Michael , you should have received a confirmation email, can you send me an email to [email protected] with your purchase details , address etc and i will follow this up for you Regards , Glenn

  • u can get this from most chemists and it comes with a cashback form stamped by the chemist. (i think some chemist have a set number of cashback forms. my local chemist warehouse had a limited cashback claim forms). the cashback is on a lot of different accu chek models. I got $40 cashback on the newest stripfree all in one Accu chek Mobile model (it cost about $120). (this offer may have expired by now)

by the way, if u (or someone u know ) r on NDSS and get ur insulin pen needles free (otherwise they cost about $40), the new stock of Novafine 30g needles box comes with a $80 cashback voucher (valid till 30/06/2011) for the Accu check Mobile model.

too bad I had already claimed my $40 cashback a couple of months ago and just got the $80 one this week :(

  • These cheap ones cost the most to run, as far a consumable costs, right?

    • Yeah, the more expensive ones don't require disposable strips so they work out cheaper in the long run.

    • Do they? Aren't the lancets and testing strips the same? The only other consumable would be the battery, usually a lithium cell.

Ah ok, hadn't realised you didn't need disposable strips now.

      • lancets are the pricking needles, cost almost the same for all accuchek models. testing strips are the ones available on NDSS at a discount prices. u still need to buy both of these for the new ones, only difference is that for the Mobile model, the stips and lancet are bought in cartridge form so they can be integrated in the main unit. for the older models, u have to put in a stip every time u test.

and if u register any accuchek model with the company, they offer free lifetime replacement of battery (we just call them up and they send on free every year ).

my thinking is that as all models require different type of test strips, the company may want to stop manufacturing the strips for older models soon so they are trying to get everyone to upgrade to newer models. hence the cashback offers.

  • Bought one from the Seutika Pharmacy store this morning, the Cash Back Claim Form was not stamped. Do I need to have it stamped to make the $40 claim, or by sending in a copy of the receipt with the filled in claim be sufficient?

  • i also saw this deal at chemist warehouse today
