Bought this during the last sale. Good for the price. Buttons are sticky, i don't think it has a headphone jack which is annoying for using with consoles.

But otherwise does what it says.
A 580/1060 will sit in the freesync range easily for most* games

    • 1060 6GB, will I get any value out of 1440p?

      • +2

        Am running with a 1060 3gb.

Depends on what you are playing. Games like CSGO and even BO4 run over or around 144hz at 1440p on my setup so you would most definitely notice the difference.

      • +1

I used to play Battlefield 3/4 and battle royale-style games at 1440p on GTX 1060 6gb and got perfectly playable framerates….IMO you'd be fine.

    • Have you had any ghosting or flickering issues when using FreeSync?

    • what console are you using?

  • Can vouch for this monitor - really good quality.

    • What type of gaming do you use this for? PC Gaming, FPS like battlefield or COD ok with the 5ms response time?

      • Haven't played too much on it yet other than Fallout 76. Just looks brilliant and noticed the difference with Freesync.

      • For CS:GO it's just a touch slower than my 144hz TN panel but not near the difference I thought it would be. Being VA it's more dark to lighter colours that will be slower and will show some smearing if you're looking for it, but not usually noticeable. It's a modern VA panel and it does have overdrive so I wouldn't be concerned about response time being an issue, more a minor drawback in some certain high contrast situations. Overall I think the VA beats the TN, what you lose in smearing is more than made up for by better greys and colours.

  • Hey OP, how did you find out that Nvidia cards would support FreeSync for this particular monitor?

    • +1

Pretty sure CES2019 said its not monitor specific but would like confirmation

      • Incidentally, the company has started by certifying 12 AMD FreeSync monitors as being "G-Sync Compatible", but it will continue to test and certify other displays, according to a press release.

It'd be interesting with this monitor. It's a Samsung panel but I don't know if that qualifies it enough to be compatible. For me, I just can't see Nvidia testing Kogan monitors. Apparently you can force the feature on but it won't be guaranteed to work if they haven't certified it.

  • been looking at this for a while, waiting for some kogan vouchers or some sort to make it even cheaper

  • +2

Now if only they had a IPS model with 1ms that would be perfect

    • +3

      Probably wouldn't be $379 though.

      • +1

Probably not but we can always dream :)

    • +1

And one that is not curved

      • +3

Actually I'm really embracing the curve. Didn't think I would before sitting in front of one. It keeps the sides of the screen the same distance from my eyes as the centre, perhaps reducing the amount of work for my eyes? More, when I hop back to a flat monitor, I really miss the curve. The sides feel strange, too far away.

        <3 the curve.

      • +1

I fell like monitors might be the only place where curved works as your sitting close and straight in front of the monitor

  • Wow, amazing price for 27"/1440P/144Hz!

I was waiting for a deal for ages and ended up pulling on the AG271QX in the high $500's and its only a TN panel!

If i didn't already have it, I'd definitely pull on this deal!

I bought this in the previous sale too.

    My impressions:
    - Postage was quite fast to Qld regional address and well packaged.
    - Panel is sharp and bright, colours are decent - zero complaints there.
    - Mixed feelings about the curve - good for a single user, but bad for sharing a video with others.
    - Integrated speakers are very quiet and virtually useless.
    - Limited ports - just 2 HDMIs and a DP. No headphone port for sound output.
    - Metal stand is very basic but quite sturdy - VESA mount is viable
    - Menu system is okay to navigate, but limited options and buttons feel very cheap and clunky
    - Provided with decent quality cables etc, well packaged.
    - I've experienced a couple of flickers, but only in one particular game - fine in everything else. Could easily be the game itself.
    - Refresh rate of 100+ Hz via 1070 in BF5 is great, very smooth motion and a significant upgrade over 60Hz.
    - Connection ports are recessed a long way into the underside of the screen and rather difficult to plug cables into. Not sure if this is a cable-management system I don't understand, or dumb design.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it - excellent value in my opinion. Even better if GTX cards can make use of the FreeSync capability.

    • Thanks for posting this!

    • I purchased with the last deal as well, no real complaints for such a cheap monitor

  • Anyone know if it is Display Port 1.2 which is required for GSync?

    • Not sure which version, but I do know that G-Sync only works over DisplayPort, it doesn't work with HDMI.

  • +2

The VESA mount is actually 75x75.

Additionally, there is an annoying plastic panel on the back that makes cables hard to connect, the panel can be removed by pulling it off from the 4 connection points.

The built in stand is very sturdy, I've replaced mine with a monitor arm though.

There is minimal ghosting in brighter scenes, but if the scene is dark or turns black shows significant smearing. Doesn't affect my gaming experience in CSGO though.

This is a rebrand of the Viotek GN27D, so check out it's reviews for more info.

I give it an 8/10. Fantastic value at this price, only things that could improve would be the smearing, slight colour shift when viewed at angles, and low brightness at 250 nuts.

  • Bought 2 of these. Looks amazing for the price. You'd be hard pressed to find a better monitor with the same spec at this price range (and trust me I've looked around. Went to pccasegear, mwalve, centrecom, msy…etc. 1440p, 27 inch, 144hz, VA with high refresh rate are almost always 500+) People don't give Kogan product enough credits - yes some of them are crappy but I've yet to come across anything that makes me think "I paid too much for these".

Stands are pretty garbage though highly recommend getting a vesa arm or two

  • Got this last month. Arrived faulty. When on standby, screen flashes colours (screen burn test or some sort). Exchange took like 3/4 of a month and till today i have yet to receive the monitor.

    • They completely sold out on the last sale so it's hard to send a product if you don't have it in stock. I bought one the other day and it's leaving the warehouse on the 21st. if you've asked for a new one you'll have to wait till 22nd-24th for it to arrive (that's my best guess)

      • Problem is communication … or the lack of it. Would I be afraid Kogan would liquidate tomorrow? Nope. The worst thing is poor customer service that leaves you hanging and wondering wtf is happening.

Btw for warranty, you dont ask for a new one. Whether its a refurb or new or whatever, its up to them.

Lastly if a retailer oversells or over-commit on stock that are in the container halfway from China, and did not state on the sale page, its their problem. Dont assume responsibility for someone else's greed. Online retailers (I assume) would have a live inventory system to track stock on hand so whether its sold out or not, it has no relevance to selling stock they dont have on hand.

Anyone tested this monitor with g-sync?

    • Keen to hear feedback regarding this

    • I have this monitor and tested it today.

It works pretty darn well. No flickering, contrast shifting or artifacting occurred for 99% of the time. I only noticed maybe once during the first setup that it flickered very very slightly on loading into a game but hasn't happened since.

As for the monitor itself I cannot be more satisfied its a god damn steal 1440p 144hz AND works with G-Sync now for under $400 (I ended up getting it for $315 back when it was in preorder with discount gift cards)

  • This or the Samsung jg50 27 inch but also comes in a 32 inch in a similar price bracket.

  • Can you adjust the height of the included stand? I couldn't find anything about it in the online manual.

Edit: Answered my own question after looking at Viotek GN27D reviews: no, it does not have height adjust.

Anyone who is curious in buying this monitor and wants video reviews or irl pics for it look for the Viotek GN27D. It is the exact same monitor but with Kogan printed on the front of it and a different (but also still shit) stand

Here are my notes on the monitor
-Quality is excellent and on par to known brand monitors of the same spec.
-5ms response is a bit slow on paper compared to some tn 144hz panels out there but I don't feel theres any latency/response issues with the monitor.
-THE BEZEL IS NOT AS SMALL AS THEY MAKE IT OUT TO BE IN THE PRODUCT PHOTOS (Still small but for reference check out real photos of the Viotek GN27D)
-Monitor Settings OSD is the old 5 crappy buttons layout but this doesnt matter you wont be fiddling around with it much
-Stand is metal but pretty crap. Vesa mount is available via a pop out on the back and 4 vesa extension screws included in the box
-Display Port Cable Included in the box
-Curve is extremely subtle. I've heard people saying they had to get used to curved monitors but honestly the curve on this is so subtle you dont notice it day to day
-This monitor runs quite warm and you will notice a bit of heat coming from the bottom but nothing to be worried about. Its about as warm as my old non-LED LCD monitor
if you are using a 60hz led monitor chances are you may find the display being quite warm to be worrying but its normal

If anyone has any question I'm happy to answer anything

  • In the manual for this monitor on Kogan's website it states Resolution is 2560x1080p
    Im sure thats a mistake?

anyone with this can confirm its 2560x1440 ?

    • I can confirm its 2560x1440

  • Anything in the 32 inch size. Running 24 inch 1080p now and considering 32 inch as an upgrade if it is cheap enough.

Price has been jacked up to $499. Was just about to purchase it too, had it in my cart. God dammit.

    • +2

In the same boat, was waiting for ebay plus 15% off voucher to arrive to get it for a bit cheaper with shipping but now its been jacked to $564 on Ebay. Sucks.
