    1. Pricematch shouldn't be listed as a title bargain. Include it in the description, but the title should quote the $117 amount.
    2. I've seen cheaper, like the Samsung 2TB for $99…
    • Yeah same, but this is still a pretty good price!

  • is that 7200RPM speed correct?

I have the 1TB version (looks the same) and it has the 5400 green drive in it which is a pain in the bum how slow it is especially when streaming media from it.

    • The speed of the drive inside is pretty much irrelevant when it is going through a USB 2.0 interface.

The USB interface can only support about 25-27MB/sec absolutely flat out. Even the slowest 5400 RPM hard drive will be able to triple that speed.

I wonder if you might have reformatted your drive in Windows XP, and not aligned the sectors properly (remember almost all modern drives are advanced format drives). Dunno about read performance, but misalignment makes the write as slow as a wet week.

      • na i never have formatted it but my PC has USB3 ports which is spose to speed up usb2 products a little and im running win7.

To be honest I can live with slow transfer speed its the streaming that does me in as i watch movies on my xbox and i usually have to transfer the file to my other portable HDD which has a seagate barracuda in it or my PC so i can watch it without it stopping for a millisecond every few seconds when action scenes are happening

I'm getting sick of pricematch titles as bargains…
    Put the actual price.

  • +1

If it is the same price as another store they won't price match it…..

    • And that annoys me. If you're going to have the lowest price guarantee, than make sure it's the lowest price. If you're selling something at the same price obviously it's not the lowest and therefore, by the wording of their deal, they should lower the price.

      • -1

Actually that is precisely what it is. Can you get it cheaper? No? Then it is the lowest price…

I'm also getting sick of others getting sick

They won't bit the price if another store sells it at the same price as theirs.

  • They will re-adjust it by 5 cents to make it the cheapest price so they don't have to honour the extra 5%

  • Got this exact model last week from a pricematch off Fluidtek for $95.
    Works pretty good. :)
I like how if my computer turns off, it goes off as well.

But I'm worried whether it'll turn off if I only turn the external on.

because others are getting sick it makes me also sick (the whole pricematch in the title thing).
I still think its a good deal but the deception makes others sick which in turn gives me negs
