imo don't ever use those knife sharpeners, the edge don't last long and its nowhere near as sharp.
I use a RUIXIN PRO II, modded the ball joint so it doesn't break, few magnets to hold the knife and better stones.

    • Where did you get better stones that fit?

      • unfortunately the seller does not have any in stock but it was these ones
I only got those as it was recommended by a lot of people at a knife forum which i don't have a link to at this momement :(

I've tried lots of knife sharpeners and was never excited about sharpness until a mate recommended these Knife sharpener Don't get the all metal version, it's messy to setup and use, the plastic one is quite sturdy.
For the first time I can now slice slivers off a sheet of hanging paper. It doesn't take too long to use, though not as fast as a draw sharpener but you will have perfect blade angle, razor edge and no chipping. Worth the effort. Just my 2c worth.
EDIT: This is the same style of product as recommended above

    • any videos on how this is used?

    • How do you find the correct blade angle for these? We have a mixture of Global and other knives around.

  • Got the last sharpener from a previous post and it didn't really sharpened my knife… It claimed on the box that just 3 times will sharpen it. Did it many times but gave up cos it didn't work.
