    This will cause riots.

      Noise-free riots

      • +20

        Quiet riot.

        • +6

          quiet right!

        • +1

Come on. They just don’t want to feel the noise.

      • +2

        WHAT!?

        • SLADE

    • +3

I'm happy to fight a granny for this one!

      • +2

Nah just out run her !

        • +5

Sweep the leg. She'll be too busy figuring out how to run with a shattered hip to be any competition then.

        • She could hit you with her mobility scooter though.

        • You've still got the walking stick and the false teeth to deal with though…

They are being sold pretty cheap worldwide but in Australia at least double the price?

    • +1

Exactly what I was going to write as well. They can be found for €99 ($150) at the major electronic stores in Europe.

      • Since when was Euro to Aud less than $2

    • +21

Not everyone has a budget for QC35II or 1000M3. These are a pretty good compromise.

If you don't like them aldi has a good return policy.

    • +5

Comparing a $400 headphone with a $200 one seems not fair, don't you think?

    • +24

      Lol "risk looking cheap"

      • +19

He's better off buying Beats and letting us riffraff have $150 'cheap' headphones.

      • +14

Way cooler to look indebted.. yolo

    • +8

Bose is a cheap brand. Crap quality components and products that are produced as cheaply as possible. All you're paying for is a huge marketing budget, which appears to have worked well on you.

      • +7

To be fair, the QC35 had better noise cancelling than the WH1000XM1, and they have a more neutral sound signature, which many prefer. The WH1000XM1 and XM2 both had a headband cracking issue as well, and Sony had an abysmal response.

The XM2 put the noise cancelling at about the same and the XM3 are now above the QC35 in most areas, except comfort and some people prefer the Bose sound signature.

Bose need to put out a new pair of headphones to remain competitive, but the QC35 are by no means bad, and were superior at release in many factors.

I also don't hear the Sennheiser mentioned much, and as someone who currently has the Sennheiser PXC 550, Bose QC35 II and has previously used the Sony WH1000XM3, I dare say the Sennheiser are probably the best bang for buck out of the three, especially if getting refurbished from their official outlet with free shipping and when they do discount codes.

Tl;dr: Bose, Sony and Sennheiser all make good noise cancelling headphones, don't mock people for having a preference and don't assume your preference is the best, after all, it's just a preference.

So, you're interested in how they look, not how they sound?
Are you sure you're on the right website?

    • +1

So if you risk looking cheap on your commute that means you're commuting by public transport. Which is kinda cheap to begin with

      • LOL seriously? I am pretty sure commuting by public transport is a choice for most people and doesn't equate to cheap by default.
This was what I originally meant as well but taken out of context so I repeat : "if you can afford Bose QC 35, then dont cheap out and buy something less"

    • Ah Google "self approval issues"

  • Nice find

  • "You local store may have some or none."

Won't have none. As a catalogue item, each store is required to get some.

    • +14

5 minutes after opening on Australia Day your store will have none :-|

    • +3

      "Won't have none"

For a moment there I thought they might have some, but no, you're saying they will not have none.

      Maybe they'll have one then?

    • Probably two per store 🤣

    • I couldn't see any in my local this morning in the glass cabinet, only the wireless buds.

      • My local had one in the glass cabinet, but when we asked they grabbed one from under the counter, so it seems they kept most of the stock there

      • My local Aldi had it stacked under the counter. When I asked they gave me one.

  • One of the reviews on the JB Hifi site, says these are better then the BOSE Acoustic NC QC25 (which I am assuming is the equivalent).

Glowing review, though the reviews on sites like this can not be verified as being accurate.

    • +8

Take that one with a truck load of salt.

  • So the Amazon description says “on ear”.

But the review posted above says “over ear”.

    Anyone knows which it is?

  • +2

Anyhow, what is the reason Sony has decided to sell this one product through a cheapskate supermarket, instead of the usual approach using up-market shops?

    • -2

      Because it is cheap.

    • +3

They built up a big stock, but negotiated a deal where the manufacturer delivers x amount monthly for two years, which Sony finds is more than they've ended up selling. What to do next? Offload them with Aldi who have a worldwide business and can get rid really quickly, so not to hurt future sales. Just guessing.

      • Reasonable guess.

Here's another… it could be flawed/have an annoying but deniable bug/design fault, or simply be out of date tech so selling through a low-value vendor lets them avoid accountability like they wouldn't be able if it went through their normal channels.

        • +3

Bought one today, not flawed, excellent. Not out of date either, released 2018. Check the reviews.

  • +1

Nice find. I think TGG had these the other day.

  • reviews for this are saying it's not good and not many people are a fan?

  • My friend got these from CC rewards store 6 months ago. They are just okay looks and sound wise compared to the likes of Bose or Sony 1000 so just align your expectations and you'll be happy.

    • +1

Expectations should be aligned with $200 value which one will be getting for only $149.

  • +1

If you want them earlier you could buy them from Sydneytec on the ebay 20% sale tomorrow. Will come down to the bargain price of $1999.20
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-Sony-WHCH700NB-Mid-Range-Noi…

This takes price jacking to a whole new level. hahaha

    • Apparently 40 sold and the one advertised is the last one :/

      • yeah. Previous price was $299.

  • +4

    So they have NFC.
Does that mean I can wear them grocery shopping and just tilt my head towards the eftpos machine to pay.

    • +3

      I can confirm this works

    • +7

No, it only works for Opal and you have to shout ‘TAP ON’ really loudly (make sure you switch on noise canceling first).

      • +3

I always wear protective tin foil hat that also covers my NFC enabled headphones. This is to prevent frauds from skimming away my money by tapping an EFTPOS machine on my head while I'm merrily listening to music. You wouldn't believe the number of times this happens on a train.

        • You too, huh? Darn those Romanianian skimmers!

  • Just go to a Sony Kiosk and get a price match

    • Sure you've got one price matched ?

  • Reviews say these cans have below average NC capabilities.

  • +3

Okay so got these last week with good guys deal.

They sound amazing and have killer battery life.

However, the major thing I hate is the fact that you can only pair a single device at a time. This may be super annoying to people that typically use more than one device.

    • Agree. This is an important feature for some people. Just because it may not be to others doesnt make any less important to you or i.

  • +4

Watched some reviews on Youtube. The top end and the best noise cancelling headphones in the world as of now (Jan 2019) is Sony WH-1000XM3. These Sony WH-CH700N are mid range ANC headphones within Sony's like of ANC headphones. These do have good sound quality but the ANC is meh. If you are looking for solid ANC, go for the Sony WH-1000XM3, not these.

  • anyone know what the wireless earphones are a rebadge of?

    • Bauhn :-)

  • 9000+ clicks.
This deal is still a week away in store.

I'm guessing you all love Aldi.
Or that waiting for sale marketing game pays off~
    * cue multiple endless drum rolls *

  • I took the catalogue to a JB Hi-Fi today and price matched and got them. $149.

    • Nice job. I prefer to buy things in person too.

    • Awesome, if possible could you post the receipt?

I'd like to try my luck today.
