Absolutely, in fact they are generally better as the keyless chuck of a drill driver holds better to a hex bit than a round bit. But for a normal drill bit the impact driver version will generally be more expensive.

  • Thanks OP!

  • another newbie Qn - what's the difference between impact driver and the screwdriver range: 3.6v Li Ion screwdriver?

"The impact driver uses both bit rotation and concussive blows to power-drive screws through the thickest, densest woods. The result of this combo is raw, unadulterated power. In fact, impact drivers typically deliver two to three times more turning force (torque) than the average drill/driver."

Electric screwdrivers usually have even less power than a drill/driver.

      • raw, unadulterated power

        hahaha

        • Bit dramatic but you get the idea.

  • Having just got a ryobi drull for $140 having these 2 will be a great add for price.
Great thing about Bunnings is they really
Don’t ask too many questions if return needed if you wanna return

  • Thanks OP
    Just got one

  • I've got these two at home and I've got no complaints. Good for small DIY jobs.

    Moorabbin - NO STOCK
Mentone - STOCK AVAILABLE (3 pieces remaining @ 4 PM) - It's still marked at the regular price of $98; although it will scan as $49 on checkout

    Thanks OP ;)

    • Just had a look at it and it doesn’t seem to have a charger or am I missing something?

      • its got a charger that connects directly to the battery.

      • Charger is included in the kit…

  • Can any one check whether the voltage drop to around 15v when not in use?

Bunnings @ dandenong has 5 left in stock

  • It's strange but my wife just went to grab one for me (I'm O/s at the moment), and she was told it's the regular price (triple-checked she got the right thing). Anyway, thanks OP!

    • I entered some Sydney postcodes and still came up as $49. Did your wife show them the online price?

      • +1

Sorry - she was told that $49 was the regular price

        • -1

Regular price was $98. The price tags in most of the stores still say $98 but the item scans at $49.

  • Got one today! Planning to share it with a friend. He needs the drill and i need the impact driver. Does anyone know if i can buy the chargers separately? Need another charger for it!

    • Probably cost you half of the $49.

    • Maybe ebay if you check the specs on the charger?

    • Looks like a generic charger. You should be able to find one at home for another device you have. I have one from my hard drivr which I’m sure is the same.

  • Anyone know how long the batteries will last (if fully charged or 80% charged) when stored? I have an old Ozito 12V nicad drill which is annoying in that I have to charge up the battery for a few hours/the day before any time I want to use the drill. Thinking this kit might be a good upgrade for my infrequent use.

  • Thanks OP. Got one.
Also got a very good deal on the bits.

  • Does the battery fit the black and Decker model?

  • Thanks op. Pick up last one at Crossroads

  • Cheers op, got 2nd last one at Noosa. Will use it when camping to screw bolts into ground rather than hammering pegs.

  • Seems to be the normal price for these now. Grabbed one at mt gravatt logan road. There's 5 left at 7am this morning. Thanks op!

This appears to be a clearance item as the batteries are not compatible with the new XU1 Blue range
They have both on the website the XU1 Blue is $98 and the XU1 is $49
