Good link, I read that whole article, and the one it references. Basically, it's hard to hunt for a good TV because marketing complicates it.
You want a tv with high Hz, preferably 240hz or more, but 120hz will suffice for a cheaper TV.
4K TV's are max 120hz, and rely on motion interpolation, which differs from TV to TV, so it seems like a bit of a gamble if you're buying blind… Only thing you can be sure of is the Hz
It has a good picture - I purchased one recently
Pros:
Good picture quality - High 5400:1 contrast ratio, decent colour accuracy out of the box in 'Movie' modeLooks good in dark scenes/room - Excellent black uniformity with no clouding/light bleed
Good for most gaming - Very low ~15ms input lag, acceptable 9ms response time during bright scenes, BFI available in game mode
Cons:
Not very bright - Average 270cd/m2 SDR peak brightness means not recommended for well lit roomsCrappy HDR - Narrow colour gamut and low HDR peak brightness
Average motion - Poor 24ms response time in dark scenes, movies show judder, visible flicker at low brightness
Overall a decent TV for the price provided you aren't putting it in a brightly lit room. If you don't mind a bit of flicker, enabling BFI should resolve the other motion issues.
