S10 coming up. These will drop very soon. In price

      • No way I'm buying phones rrp. I am tempted by that optus deal though (new phones but cheap plan).

And yeah snapdragon (specifically their gpu) is much better.

        • What's the OPTUS plan?

Do you really think they’ll drop the price with the new release? They barely do this with Apple phones but I’m not familiar with Samsung’s record on this?

      • Apple retain their value a lot better than Samsungs. The s9 especially will crash harder than the s9+.

Even the iPhone x is still quite pricey. I think the iPhone 8 will drop more than the x.

On a side note, the Xr is a great value phone.

        • +1

because apple forbid retailers to go below rrp

          • @belongsinforums: Even on eBay resellers, price wise it holds much better than other androids. Samsung is the better out of everyone else…

        • Yeah I’m looking at making the switch to Android but I’ve always been an Apple guy. Just unimpressed with apples innovation at the moment. The synergy with my MacBook kept me going for a while but it’s really not all that useful because iCloud storage maxes out at 5gb before you have to start rolling out the $$. I like the look of the note 9 and it’s still a relatively new phone so maybe won’t be hit so hard in price by the s10.

@djthornton: You can shop around on the note 9 and get them for under $1,100. I'm not sure they'll get much more below that for a few months, but you never know!

        • Wasn't the note 9 512gb around 1800 on release? If so damn!

          • @Icecold5000: It still is $1800 from Samsung!

            • @djthornton: It’s a good phone but still would be suffering from butt hurt if I purchased at that price. Glad I got at XS.

      • Last year I remember waiting for the s9 release so I could get a cheaper s8. The s8 actually increased in price by $50 and even 2-3 months later the price still didn't drop. I think price drops don't happen until well after the newest gen's release

  • Thanks for the post. Interested in TRS claim. Will the bill have the GST calculated on the full price or the discounted price?

    • full price + delivery price

      • Cheers. Thanks for confirming.

that's an excellent price for S9+ considering grey import/dual sim is going for around $860.

    • Does it come with the 512 GB micro sd?

      • this one doesnt, some do with 32gb sdcard.

Can this be claimed as TRS?

    • +11

      Literally in the description
"GST tax invoice with ABN, TRS if eligible"

  • What's clean up like

  • Associated to the store? Just wondering, as I'm keen, but ebay.

    • Hi smpantsonfire,
Yes I am associated with Allphones. If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks

Love my Note 8. Highly recommended at this price.

Huawei P20 pro or the Samsung S9+? they're really similar in price right now and I'm not sure which one I should get…

s10. Just wait until march, son.

  • Can't wait for the Note 9 to be under 800. Hopefully the S10 arrival pushes it down.

  • The S9+ is not dual sim right?

    • Hi glee,
The S9+ are single SIM, thanks.

      • Note 8 is single sim too?

        • Hi CVonC,
Yes the Note 8 is single SIM too, thanks

  • Would buy s9 if it wasn't gold, good deal but needs more colour variety

    • Agered. Any other colours?

    • Hey weezle and r0k,

Unfortunately currently only able to do the best price on the S9+ in the Gold colour, but I've added blue and purple options to the main link if you want to check them out. Thank you

You can get black for $5 more here
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/432328

  • Is AllPhones reputable, safe?

  • Claiming TRS on the S9+ brings it down from $874 to $775… bargain!

    • I've never claimed TTS before, must I be flying away somewhere soon to be able to claim from the airport?

      • +1

        Hi m0usju1c3,

        Please see here

the purchases are from a single business with the same Australian business number (ABN) and total AUD$300 (GST inclusive) or more. For example, if you bought items from one business, even on separate invoices, that together total AUD$300 the goods were purchased within 60 days of departure from Australia

  • Would the Note 9 work with Optus wifi calling.

Wifi calling is a make or break for me as I live in a no Optus coverage area

    • Hi patrioticpickle,

Sorry for the late reply. The Note 9 should work with wifi calling, it is listed on Optus site under Wifi calling devices, but it is recommended that you check with the network to make sure.

      • Hi lyl,

Any chance you guys would list Note 9 128GB?

        • Hey AussieDaddy,

Unfortunately we are currently out of stock on all Note 9 128GB configurations. Thanks for your interest though, will let you know if we restock the 128GB.

  • @lyl is there anyway you can bring down the price of the Huawei P20 (non plus)? Right now Allphones' price for it is still not competitive with other eBay sellers, especially with the "15% off Sitewide for New eBay Plus Members" deal (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/432557). I'd like to get Aus stock of it but I can't justify it unless the price is lower :/

    • Hi glee,

Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately the current P20 Pro price is the best we can offer at this stage

  • Sorry for the dumb question, what does it mean by “Telstra branded” -(unlocked) Can I use an internode SIM on this? Does it just have the name Telstra printed on it but it can take any SIM?

    • Hi obiwan,
Telstra branded means there may be a telstra logo on bootup and a few preinstalled telstra network apps. It is unlocked so will take a SIM for any Australian network, yes you can use an internode SIM on it. Thanks

  • No volte on S9 plus gold? Rubbish phone. No wonder so cheap. Beware!
