Warning - You Cannot Amend a Woolworths Online Order to Buy More (or Less) on!

I am very disappointed that I cannot amend my Woolworths Online order this week to ADD more items (that is, spend more money!).

Apparently when all delivery times are booked for an area, the system is not capable of allowing someone who ALREADY has a delivery time booked to amend that order…..!

And it is not very consumer friendly either because it also means if you change your mind and want to remove an item from an order before delivery, you can't. All you can do is cancel the entire order - and of course, loose your delivery slot so you can't make a new order to replace the one cancelled.

This is a relatively simple IT fix…..change the programming to allow an order to be amended and preserve the delivery time already set for that order.

Come on Woolies…..show us how great your IT department can be and get this one sorted

What did woolworths say when you yelled at them?

Maybe you should take up your problem with someone who might be able to fix it.

Good luck on fiinding the delivery slot that you loost.

    • LOL, nice work grammar police!

lol, looks like a you problem

When did you order and when is the scheduled delivery?

Is it conceivable that your order has been picked and that adding to your order means having to look for your order and add more size to it? Perhaps the cost of locating your bag (to add to or remove from) amongst the hundreds is cost prohibitive?

You joined ozbargain 19 minutes ago just to make this post?

And it is not very consumer friendly either because it also means if you change your mind

Or you can make up your mind before placing your order.

    I've got a simple solution:

Decide what you want BEFORE you place your order.

When i had this problem i contacted them and they asked what i wanted to get, then they added the items to the order for free on their side.

These forums are becoming a joke.

    • True, but without stupid post, there would be less stuff to laugh at.

Feel better now you have that off your chest?

I amended an order, due for delivery next day, not long after it was submitted. This was a few weeks ago.

If only there were physical stores you could go to to purchase "groceries" if you forget them in your online order…

  • +4

    Lol at username, bitter much?

  • +1

Well given most stores don’t allow for “change of mind” I don’t see why woolies would want to change this.

As for forgotten items, have you tried calling them? They might be able to add the items in or they might have already packed your order and it can’t be changed. Not to mention they’d have to pay people to monitor the systems to see if a “I changed my mind” request came in. People would abuse the hell out of it.

OP suggests this should be a "…relatively simple IT fix…", and I'm pretty sure it would be.
But, the impacts of that IT change would most likely be significant, and impact on all areas of the order fulfilment process / systems.

I wonder how many online Coles/Woolies shoppers also do a 'top-up' shop between deliveries?

  • Maybe do your shopping in store next time.

wow.. this is outrageous!!!! why cant you add some more whine to your order!!

what did whirlpool or productreview.com say?

oooorrrrr… maybe check woolies site for info??

——Can I amend my order once I have checked out?——-

Yes, you can edit your own order up to 30 minutes before the cut off for order placement closes; however this will need to be amended on the online shopping website.

Orders for next day AM delivery close at 6pm the night before & PM delivery windows close 11pm the night before.

On the online shopping website, login to your account and simply click MY FAVOURITES and then MY PAST ORDERS click on the order number you wish to change, then click AMEND ORDER. The items from your order will be placed in to your trolley and your reserved delivery window will be released.

You are then able to add or remove products from your trolley and proceed through checkout again. Our system will remember your original payment only charge you for any additions or automatically refund you if your total is now less than your original order.

Ahhhh, another day another full-grown baby.

This is a relatively simple IT fix

    No it is not.

    • Surely it is only a config setting for the cut-off time? IT-wise, you could have that anytime up to the delivery dispatch time.

    • +3

60 minute delay for the order… would allow shopper to edit before locking in the order.
Shopper could also have the option to pass the 60 min delay and forego any order change if they liked.

  • Nice.

Troll account or peak consumer stupidity.

  • How times change … now at Woolworths it says:

Please select from the following Collapse options for order
(Amend my order is currently unavailable, please cancel and replace your order)
    Shop from order
    Track my order
    Cancel order
