    over priced. In China only ¥1100+ = $220. That’s about $110 over

    • Which item?

      • +3

probably the note 7, which i do sorta agree but this is online tax

        • +1

For that price I will get nova 3i instead.

      • He could have only been referring to the phone given the other two items are less than $220…

    • Can you help check price for the verge watch in Chinese RMB

      Edit found. Rmb 799

    • Cost in China aside, would you still say that this phone is overpriced for what it is?

  • +4

    From the website:

    Note:
It is not installed with Google Play Store, google services, or multi-languages (only English and Chinese). Kindly note with thanks.

    • +2

      So yeah, it's a brick.

      • +2

How does that make it a brick? You can easily install the google apps yourself.

      • not if you are chinese it isn’t a brick,

    • +1

Yes.. it is a reflashed chinese version RN7. The true global version is yet to be released.

$284.55 for the 3GB 32GB (black) version on AliExpress. Tried posting it but it recognised it as an affiliate link. It also has Google Play missing!

    • +2

Just be aware under certain circumstances buying through aliexpress can be not great.
I bought a xiaomi phone through aliexpress a few years back and it got stolen somewhere in the postal system.
The seller refused to refund or replace the item and the aliexpress dispute process sided with the seller leaving me with
nothing but a bubble mailer. Had I purchased using paypal I feel like things might have gone a little better but mainly I do think
as with any seller if the item arrives missing from the packaging don't sign for the packaging or anything and tell the post office your not accepting delivery of it so the onus is on them to fix the problem.

Also Aliexpress charges GST while most of these other chinese stores dont.

        • Does anyone know whether GST paid to overseas online vendors are eligible for refunds under the tourist refund scheme (TRS),

          • @byo: So long as you have a GST tax invoice i cant see why not.

          • @byo: I just bought a Redmi note 5 from aliexpress, the invoice is pretty simple, it does have GST Rateand GST Amount. But there is no ABN.

            • +2

              @findcaiyzh: No ABN? How convenient

Makes you wonder if they really pass on the GST

              • +1

@FartArse: why would a chinese vendor in china have an ABN?

                • +2

@altomic: they just keep the money …..imagine the hassle of them having to keep track and keep an abn and all the other stuff and then send the money to the ato …..and the ato isn’t going to china to recover the money ……

      • Did you lodge complaint /card dispute with your bank?? Or the decision of buying from Aliexpress left you out of pocket!!

    • If you are posting a deal with a link to an Aliexpress store / vendor which has not been posted before on Ozbargain, it will produce an error (the Ozbargain system can't parse the seller feedback correctly. This is a known bug).

If you run into the bug above, just use Talk with a Mod forum with a full desktop link (not shortened) to the Aliexpress item (check that the store meets Aliexpress posting guidelines, we require them to have 95% Positive Feedback with min qty of 100 feedback) and I can manually update the store profile. Thanks

      • No worries, thanks for the info Scrimshaw.

        Keyboard warrior

  • Original airdots are Bluetooth 5 and pro are 4.2? Fishy

    • Doesn't phase me, it's the drivers that gonna defermine the quality. Got myself Edifier TWS2, better than my Meizu Pop with far better bass and also 32ohm impedance

      • If I want quality audio ill use wired headphones. I just want long battery life, long distance audio and ideally low latency

        • these Edifier i have are pretty much the same bass and quality as my previous Xiaomi wired Pro HD in-ears. in saying that though yes am constrained by bluetooth range and latency could be a teeny bit better.

sounds like you're after LDAC when it comes to bluetooth

The pricing for the note 7 was meant to start at $150USD.. why such a big mark up? Makes it not worth the trouble getting it in from China

    • +1

Cos it was just released. Chinese ROM prices are always pretty high to import until global ROM hits, then price starts dropping

  • You would have brought them off official website from xiaomi or that infamous taobao and ship it to drop shipping company to have it shipped to Australia if One can swallow the China rom.

It is a very price attractive phone even for the 4 g 64 version.
The only advantage it has over my mi mix 3 is the battery and lower power consumption chipset. But the price is rather good, compare to the mi max 3, which is more expensive

    • These basically have the China rom on them

      • Yeap, if it is China rom, I rather buy from China lol only advantage is the warranty, but you still have to mail it back to HK or something.

    • could you please explain bit more about the whole process, how to buy directly from their website and ship it to drop shipping (any examples) company…cheers

  • +1

Some says better wait for the "Global Version" as it support more bands and has global ROM installed (support Google Play)
Even better, wait for the "Pro" version to come out

    • When is the pro version coming my friend?

      • Likely February , perhaps before or right on MWC, pretty much known to be the same looking sceeen phone with front finger printer scanner different colours, Sony 48 mpx camera, and sd 720(whatever 7xx naming quarcomm manage pullout of their butt,) likely ai button though, start at 4/64, at the same price as top model none pro version.

        • Yes and Pro will have better battery too.

        • -1

          probably sd 675

        • None of the rumours said front fingerprint scanner. Can't remember if Xiaomi ever has a phone with front FP scanner

As for processors all the rumours saying sd675. I taking this with a giant grain of salt because Xiaomi rumours are usually just that, rumours and can be way off.

  • Noone interested on the Verge watch? It's equal to AUD 160 in China so $20 for small profit and shipping isn't bad. Plus this is global version.
Nothing close to this price in AliExpress. I don't know about taobao

  • OP, by any chance you could stock xiaomi newly released wireless Bluetooth earbuds Air?

    • any link example of the item

  • Still not water proof

  • Can anyone comment on the picture quality of the 48 megapixel camera? I am told it is interpolated. How does it stack up compared to the camera on the RN5?

    Cheers Peter

    • +2

Wait til Pro variant announced that isn't interpolated

      • Wow this would be awesome.
I can't find any source citing this though.

        • +1

Plenty of sources. Google be your friend

  • DO NOT buy redmi note 7 yet
wsait till the global version will be released soon
    with better camera as well

  • Anyone know if the power inverter would be suitable for a laptop. In listing they mention a notebook, but nothing about pure sinewave.

  • Will the 7 Pro get wireless charging I wonder?

  • they just release redmi note every couple months now not even a year lol

  • Has the coupon codes expired? QCYT1CAU3 is not taking the shipping fees off for the QCY earphones.

Edit: Sorry, it works. When you change the country to Australia from Default USA the coupon code works. Just ordered a pair.

  • Wow and it's actually type c.

must've gone through the containers of micro-usb ports.
