you probably need an ink cartridge that's not empty installed to use the speaker…
no idea why you'd want your printer to play music… but who knows.. maybe it's the next best thing since sliced bread?

actually the more i think about it, the more it sounds like a good idea?
i mean if the sound quality is any good, you could position this around your house like a sonos and use it primarily for music.
Then at the odd occasion you might need to print something, then at least you have a printer on hand to do so.THese days camera phone scanning features are usually good enough for most things, so it makes sense to ditch the scanner.
if they could now just make these $15 like the other cheap all-in-one printers, then this would be quite useful i'd think.

Ugggh cheap printers. I researched many Epson models and the cheaper they were the more expensive the ink, even through unnoficial sources. And a speaker? Gimme a break.
A built in USB charging point allows you to charge your other devices while still using the printer, and thanks to the microphone and speaker of the HP AMP 120 you can make and receive calls directly from your printer when needed.
Knowing HP the printer will break long before the speaker of course.
