Need Suggestion on NBN Provider

Hello everyone!

NBN will be available on our suburb this coming February 2019 and I was thinking of which NBN provided is the best. I currently have Optus ADSL+ plan at the moment but planning to upgrade it as soon as the NBN is live on our place.

Can somebody help me to choose which NBN provider to switch to? Or do you think Optus is good? I am looking into an NBN50 plan, no phone (as we do not use it much) and no TV plan as well ( we just use netflix).

Thank you so much!

Best Regards.

I would suggest you don't jump to NBN as soon as it's available, let other people in your area get rid of all the teething problems

    • Plus the ADSL gets better with the more people on it. Well for most NBN types.

  • I've been happy with Belong on the 50 plan, haven't seen it dip below 28 at peak times, most often low 30's at peak time and mid/high 40's for the rest. Of course some might b*tch about those kind of speeds but very few are as cheap as Belong are ~ $65 per month.

I just signed up with fliptv for $60 per month

    • That's who I'm with since June and very happy with everything, even the CS.

NBN Unlimited 50 Fixed Wireless @ $59 / month, no contract either. BYO modem/router. For one PC use only if near the NBNCo box, no modem is needed, just an ethernet cable to the box.

  • I found my provider here —> https://www.whistleout.com.au/Broadband/Search?tab=nbn

Whirlpool was too confusing and beside that, whistleout also shows current specials on offer.

    • ^ and pick a one that support your budget, speed, etc. If you not please, chage to something else.

  • Just got connected to nbn (HFC) for a week with AussieBroadband, fantastic so far.

The whole process is hassle-free, and connection is fast and reliable. I went with the 100/40 plan, and on WiFi I could typically get 90-95/25-30 no matter what time of the day, which I consider to be excellent speeds.

Actual download speeds (say, torrenting) vary, but usually if the seeds are of good quality, speeds usually can maintain a steady 10MB/s, which is really enough for anything I do.
