[QLD] Special E10 Fuel $1.00 Per Litre @ 7-11 Mobil, Heritage Park

680

Only $1/litre for E10. Everything else at the store and nearby is expensive so maybe a mistake?
Can lock it in if you are in the area and use it within 7 days.

    Amazing price. Thanks for sharing

  • Definitely a mistake. That station doesn't even have E10!

    • +1

That's strange, I thought there was a law requiring them to sell ethanol at some point.

It appeared in the app just while I was looking in the area.

Note: I didn't go to the actual petrol station but I live near here and my local does not sell E10.

      • Yeah I thought it was QLD law also.

You may have answered your own question 😬

      • I too was under that impression. But I pulled that site's details via the QLD Government's Fuel Prices API and they don't report E10. It is possible they've run out and are awaiting a delivery, and if there's a legislative requirement that E10 be made available that may explain why the 7-11 fuel app can't handle it not having a price?

  • +10

    Honeypot?

    • I live in the area :)

  • +1

If you near ryde nsw, coles express Ryde E10 still 104.9. with 10cent flybuys n 4cent docket is even better. we fill up @ 90.9

    • +1

One benefit this has over that Coles is I can lock it in and use it any time this week at $1.
Also, you don't have to go to the petrol station — you only need to be within about 20km to lock it in, which makes it available to many more people.

How do you get 10c discount?

    • +1

Yeah, if you can wait in a queue for 30 minutes. That's what I ended up doing at the Caltex Woolworths down the road which was offering the same price. About halfway through I realised I would rather spend a few cents more than have to sit waiting for people to not only fill up their 100 litre petrol tanks in their SUVs, but also seemingly do their weekly grocery shopping in the convenience store, use the loo and (profanity) around with jerry cans.

      • 7-11 lets you use this price at any store so no queues.
Apparently this store doesn't even do E10.

  • Thanks OP. Hope my car is OK for this e10 fuel . 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe.
I used to only get 98 fuel. But been alternating lately, either 98, or whichever comes up as a great price . So half tank of 98 and half tank of e10 now.

That's such a waste and makes no sense.

Use what your car engine specifies (U91).

There is no benefit of U98 for your particular car.

      • There is no benefit of U98

        Surely there is some benefit?
I know it has more power/acceleration with the 98.
I thought it also helped keep the fuel systems cleaner, with the 98. And I think V-power advertisers something like this.

Use what your car engine specifies (U91)

Thanks for that info, but how do I know if this E10 (94) fuel is suitable or not for my vehicle. That's what I would really like to know.

        • +3

Open the glove box, find the car manual, and start reading.

Alternatively, call your closest official Hyundai garage and politely ask if ethanol is suitable.

General rule of thumb, you may have a slightly higher performance with 98 but it's not bad for your car to put 91 in it, unless it specifically calls for 95 or 98. Some high performance cars (turbo/supercharged cars) require this. Some cars aren't suitable for ethanol though. Just check.

You won't get any awards for only using 98 when you could be using 91. It doesn't improve resale value, there's no way to check and most people would think it's a waste.

For the record I would normally use 91, even though my car takes ethanol. But I'll put ethanol in it for a deal like this.

        • +1

The Queensland Government has an E10 OK website where you can punch in your rego for QLD registered vehicles or model details and it will say if your car is suitable for E10. Just check that the model that comes back if you enter your rego is actually correct, they have some problems with mapping some vehicles from DTMR data.

    • +1

I use 95 on all vehicles - from my experience/driving style, 95 has proven to deliver great $/km. E10 is great value as well, but ethanol is not ideal for most engines as alcohols are strong solvents that attack rubber/polymer parts, incl your engine o rings and pipework.
Octane number (if we oversimplify) is a probability of fire/misfire, so you can do simple maths yourself.

  • +1

Bugger - just installed the app since Heritage Park isn't far from here, but because there are 5 other stores that are closer, I don't get the option to lock in the price!

    • +1

Try get a little bit closer or use the GPS trick.

  • -3

E10 fuel will damage your engine even if it says E10 suitable - google it.
    Been there, done that.
Not worth a damage engine just to save a buck.

    • -2

      Been there, done that.
Not worth a damage engine just to save a buck.

What engine damage did it do ?

You're probably right. I heard from someone that is very high up and experienced with management of car dealerships, not to use ethanol fuel. He was advising someone with a used car worth about 7k . Perhaps a cheaper car is worth the risk. My car is only worth about 2k-3k

      • +1

How old was that used car? Some much older vehicles, biofuels are not suitable. Same with some higher performance engines (rule of thumb: if the fuel cap recommends premium fuels, it's not going to like E10… turbochargers and superchargers especially will not perform well). A standard Honda Odyssey or Toyota Camry though, you would have no issue (unless it's Diesel of course… probably don't put E10 in a diesel engine).

        • +1

there is a website you can check setup by the gov.

    • +4

I’ve been using E10 exclusively (since it was introduced) in my Yaris.

      No engine damage at all.

The car is still going strong after 14 years. But unfortunately, it’s still a Yaris.

  • +1

Retarded app won't let me top up. Error code Lima. Fing retarded.

    • Had this happen before. Had to contact support.
Just create another account with a different email address

      • Tried that. Thanks but issue remains.

        • I would try uninstalling, then reinstalling app. Maybe doing a cleanup of junk/residual files, after uninstalling may help too.
Or even just power down, start back up, phone could fix your issue.

          • @[Deactivated]: I think it actually might be a banking issue now. I've literally tried everything.

            • @Korban Dallas: Others have had top up issue, and said they had to top up, by just going in to 7/11 and buying top up credit. There must be some gift card or something for top up.
If it continues to be an issue with banking payment, but works fine with top up credit purchased in store, then I would suggest (if can afford it) just have credit sittinf there for lock ins, and pay cash each time instead of payment via app.

              • @[Deactivated]: Ok it worked first thing this morning. Clearly a bank issue I think, at least for me anyway.

There is an apk in one of these threads that works with fake GPS.

Awesome, live near Brown Stains and it locked on.

    • +10

Brown Stains? That's very unfortunate, sorry to hear that.

      • Comes with the Logan Bogan territory I believe

        • Im going to assume he meant Browns Plains

          • @mrctan: Yep, a reasonably common "nickname" for the area sometimes used by those who also say "scummybank" and "garbo" among others.

  • -1

Is it possible to spoof location and get the price?

  • Why ain't anyone posting Muesli slice deal?

    • Coz by now everyone should really know what deal is coming up next?

  • Apologies if question was asked/answered before but is anyone local to Heritage Park and can confirm this is the price displayed? Might be paranoid but might be a test to weed out people using fake gps methods?

    • Price appears in the app legitimately anywhere in Logan area. Don't need to be fake to get this deal.

      • Not really what I was asking but thanks for reply anyway :)

        • What I meant is how can they use this to weed out fake gps users if anyone can use it?

  • Saying $1.34-$1.39 now..

    • +1

      E10 is $1
      Just confirmed price still there

    • +1

Make sure you're locking in "Heritage Park QLD" location

      • I can see the Waller Road Heritage Park location in FakeGPS, but it will not do it in the 7-11 app?
How do I get the 7-11 app to lock onto the cheaper location?

        • Need the special apk of app. It is in another thread. Won't work if you are not android user though.
Also can just use android emulator on computer. Android emulator is called "NOX" . Im sure you can google that to download if want to use pc .

  • +1

    Just locked, still @ 1.00 for E10

    • How did you do the FakeGPS lock?
I am on iPhone trying to use the app, but different combinations don’t really work. What’s the magic way?

      • See my comment above. Download NOX for computer

  • Anyone know if this will lock in from the M1 at Loganholme? Dont really want to have to head out through Beenleigh just to get close enough

    • +1

Should do, it works within 20km's of the target and AFAIK selects the cheapest one.

      • Thanks

  • +1

    I think it's expired?

  • Expired. Updated in the app 11:59 - price now 132.9
