  • Anyone managed to get a price beat from bunnings in sydney?

    • +3

      I did.

      • Did you have to verify stock in sydney with electric discounter?

        • I am not sure if they did. T.E.D online order does not ask to verify the stock. Perhaps that is why it was not required at bunnings.

Someone at bunnings HQ will be fired on Tuesday because they didn't relabel this air conditioner with a unique bunnings-only model number.

        • I don't see why there is any issue. Both Bunnings and the electric discount have the same model number.

Nothing on Bunnings website indicates that it is Bunnings specific product.

          • +5

@No ONE: There's no issue. He's describing practices bunnings use to avoid honouring their own price beat policy so he can have a gripe humorously

  • The SRK71ZRA is $1472 with a trade pass.

  • What's the labor like to get one of these installed?

    • +1

No different to any other AC installation - it will depend whether it is a simple back-to-back installation or whether you need longer runs and how many bends etc

    • +1

Bunnings quoted around $800 for back to back installation on brick veneer.

Depending on your state, many different variables to consider - you may need a new fuse box being the biggest one.

If you have a modern fuse box, you can easily get licensed fridgies to install it for $500-$550 on Gumtree out of the peak season.

      • Didn't know bunnings did installation?? good to know.. thanks

        • Bunnings doesn’t. They hire 3rd parties to do the job. Bunnings quoted me $1000 minimum for installation, so WTF….

          • @AussieGargain: https://www.bunnings.com.au/our-services/in-home/air-conditi…

The pdf shows the additional charges involved. That's probably where your $1000 installation comes from. What I don't understand is what "disposal not included" for the Decommission and Removal of Old Unit means. Base price starts at $698.

            • +1

@sharkatron: $1000 was initial charge and will be extra on site. Granted that my old aircon was needed to be replaced and not back to back.

Disposal not included is they remove old air con and collect the gas from the old one, but they will leave the old unit to you for disposal.

      • $800 is a rip, fyi

Do not use bunnings to get it installed! A cash job on the weekend should be $500, less even.

        • What about certificate of compliance? If it causes an electrical fault and a fire then insurance will want to see the paperwork otherwise they may weasel there way out of paying up

  • Had Bunnings reluctantly do a price beat on this - last one in stock at Waurn Ponds.

  • SRK71ZRA-W: Got it down to 1302$ in Bunnings Belconnen (Canberra) by 10% price beating

    • Wow. You managed to price match MEL specific price.

  • I got bunnings to price beat at Dandenong vic. $1302

  • Hi,

do you who you spoke with? Gals at Fountain Gate wouldnt do it for that price

    • After a few minutes of trying at Dandenong, they finally did it for me at 1302 as well.. i will be cool

  • +1

Missed it. Looks like price has gone up to $1,679

    • Lol. Looks like Bunnings also pulled it off from its website.

      • edit: Bunnings added the AC back now at $1542 to avoid price match.

        • Boo :(

          • @harveybunnings: however, for QLD can still price match for 1500 (after PB $1350). otherwise out of luck.
