  • Not bad, but it isn't USB 3 :(

    • Agree. Being a sata docking station, I would have thought it would have at least had Esata connection ports.

      • Horses for courses, RAID setting such as BIG setup for maximum hard drive capacity, or JBOD to setup two separate hard drives is an extra bonus at this price

        • What's the point? It's still going to be transferring at a painfully slow 25-30MB/s in a real life situation.

        • The average transfer rate is 33 MB/s
Review data is 500 MB 14 Seconds mistake
5 mins would be roughly 10,000mb

        • On what planet is it going to transfer over 1TB in 5 mins?
You need to check your calculations…

    • Do a search on google for this product and you will find lots of reputable international reviews, unlike your product link

    • It's not compatible with western digits I see.

    • Your eBay link handles IDE also, handy for older drives.

These bare docks provide no active cooling, so I'm always wary of them. Some hard drives get REALLY hot. Having the bare drive with exposed electronics isn't really a good idea for so many reasons, be it pets, clumsy co-workers, splashed coffee, moisture from outside, the list goes on.

I used to run one of my computers with an open case 24/7 because it was just easier to get at all the internals. Then a cat jumped through the window and pissed all through it. Now I keep stuff covered up when possible.

lol hope you killed that cat.

    • +1

I think your cat thought your PC needed liquid cooling lol

  • These external docs are nice for grabbing data from PCs with dead mobos/PSUs. Also nice for a variety of other tasks, too, and the price on this one is pretty good. Too bad it doesn't have cloning functionality.
