Where to Buy Genuine, or High Quality Aftermarket Samsung Phone Batteries?

Hi all,

As title suggests, I'm after a genuine, or good aftermarket, battery for my S6.

100% of what's sold on eBay is going to be counterfeit, guaranteed, I don't care how many Australian flags you put in your thumbnail or variants of the combination of "100% real genuine OEM original Samsung" you use!

I've used BetterBatt in the past, but they don't sell S6 batteries!

Can anyone recommend an actual, reputable seller of phone batteries?

Many thanks in advance!

  • I'm after a genuine, or good aftermarket, battery for my S6.

I had this issue a while ago, and its hard to say really, I assume most batteries are 'fake' these days unless purchased via a reputable seller/department store aka large Brand name store, but has its not user replaceable batteries anymore, no one carries them.

You can get batteries replaced directly via Samsung. I guess this is the only REAL way to know its a real battery etc.

  • I find a new battery doesn't really do anything on an old phone. They just get to a point where the battery goes dead quickly no matter what you replace it with.

    • where the battery goes dead quickly no matter what you replace it with.

Normally that is just a knock off battery issue. They are not up to the same spec as the OEM one, and normally NEVER meet the 'claimed' rating even when new.

ie a 'ebay special' brand new battery might claim to be 3000mah but most likely only supplying 2000mah from new!

  • I changed the battery on my S7 Edge a year ago and it made a huge difference to battery life.

  • bought this for my Note3 a while back and it has effectively doubled my battery life/usage time.
assume it to be genuine because 1) it says so ;) and 2) it has the NFC chip built in which I assume knock-offs wouldn't have.

  • Thanks for the input all - I'm going to avoid eBay like the plague still - if it wasn't a back cover off job, I'd just live with the knockoff, but given the open-heart surgery, I'll keep looking.

    • Call Samsung up, you might be surprised at the cost, it wasn't too bad last time I asked for a phone.

      • Fair enough - I'll give them a try!

  • Did you ask Samsung?

    • I didn't - I can DIY the replacement (I've had it apart before to replace the camera glass) so wanted to do it the true OzB way ;)

      • I mean, ask them for part.

        • I assumed they just didn't sell non-user replaceable parts to non-auth repairers, but it's worth a shot!
