Better "Alta HR" (with heart rate) was recently on clearance for $88.

Screen is very hard to read on these outdoors.
The Charge 2 model is only a bit more at $127. Looks much better.

  While I agree with this, I'm still waiting for something super low key and hopefully even smaller than the Alta, with HR tracking… I don't really care about the display. Just want something I can wear with a watch

Definitely worth getting the Alta HR instead if you see it for cheaper.

I've had both versions and the Charge as well and find the Alta looks a lot better than the Charge. This is mostly because I've got pretty small wrists so the thinner Alta model is a bit more subtle.

Why is it so expensive? It would obviously be waterproof, but doesn't even appear to have a GPS builtin. Are there lots of apps?
