Best 2 in 1 Laptop under/around $1000

Hi,

I'm trying to determine the best 2 in 1 laptop under or around the $1000 mark. Ideally with a stylus touch input as well to do some sketching and note taking on the screen.

Preferably with i5 processor or greater and an SSD, ideally 256gb+.

Currently have an old Asus F555L with 4gb ram and 500gb HHD that seems to be on it's last legs.

    • Damn, not a member of TGG Commercial. The 128gb version seems perfect with the expandable SD memory slot.

  • What's wrong with the current Asus? I assume the 500gb HDD is mechanical. You'd be surprised at how much a new SSD would improve performance.

You can pick one up pretty cheap in 250 or 500gb now. Most laptops have an easy to access HDD slot, plug the SSD in via USB enclosure and doing a clone via Macrium Reflect or similar software and then swap the drives over.

    • I've had a lot of blue screens with hardware failures and overall just running really slow like when opening photos. It is a mechanical drive though so I agree another option is to upgrade to an SSD sounds like a good idea, thanks

      • +1

Are you certain their BSDO's from hardware failures? Could be operating system files that are becoming corrupted etc.

A SSD for $60-100 and a fresh install of Windows could do a world of good to resolve the issues you're having (potentially).

        • I agree… For the cost of a SSD, its worth doing a FRESH install to see if it fixes up the BSOD issues and it will give the OP a speed bump for sure.
