    I beg to differ, before posting I searched OzBargain, eBay/AliExpress and Chinese retailers such as GearBest, Banggood & Geekbuying and it's the cheapest price available at the moment.

    If you mean it has been cheaper in the past, then yes it has been.

    No, you can access it via your phone / Bluetooth if you need too. However it works by itself.

    I'm in the same bucket, considering building a 8266 device to do same. This however does appear to work with HomeAssistant if your device has Bluetooth, I'm using raspberry pi zero W and hope to make this work using:

      Might want to try separate orders, worked for me in the past when I wanted to order more than one using the coupon. Coupon may be limited to 2 orders per account though.

      I went with a 8266 due to WiFi vs Bluetooth.

      We've got 30 of them around the college (mains powered).

      The xaiomi would be good if you need a battery solution.
