  • Which Costco is it?

    • Adelaide.is it cheap?
is it worth it to buy now in case I need it in the future?

      • +1

Amazing price. I went to Costco Adelaide straight after work to get one but they had sold out of their 2.

  • No idea with the dimensions printed.

    What’s the usual price?

    • Great question

    • +4

search my post,I posted the same deal 4 month ago when it was $400 off, make sure you read the first comment.

  • Has anybody seen these at this price in any of the Victoria stores?

  • Well I hope it is in stock at Christmas when our fabled Perth store is due to open. The deal picture from the previous bargain looks great.

    • It is a clearance item.

    New Kitchen. Thanks.

  • Anyone seen in NSW stores?

    • +2

      Yes, today in Marsden Park.

      • Many left? Same price? Happy to drive 30m to Marsden Park … Thanks

        • +2

2 left at Marsden Park when I left tonight. One on the shelves and one display model.

Warning; the boxes are large and will not fit in a car. Got it home in an 8x5 trailer with not a lot of room to spare.

would seriously consider this if I could find it in VIC

    • I saw a couple last week at epping vic, normal price though. Not sure if they also discounted it yesterday.

Check the active whirlpool costco thread and ask. People ask all the time questions like this for their local store and people who are going/intend to go check for them.

  • Have you looked at anything similar to guage it's value? Curious for myself also!

At 72 inches tall though, the side cabinets seem rather short (1.8m), OP could you comment on size or was it all fairly compacted in store?

    • +1

after I got home,I did a bit of googling, seems bunnings has almost identical set,see link in edited OP.this seems really good value at $999.

you are correct, the tall cabinet works out to be 182.88cm.the work bench with peg board is 203cm as indicated on price tag in OP.

        That is the GARARGE Range.
I'll wait for the GARARJ range as it'll be funnier.

      • I own a couple of ultimate storage products and I have seen the costco one in person last week. I would say the quality of the costco one is not as good.

        • PITA but costco has pretty much lifetime change of mind returns aslong as you keep membership.

          • @Skinnerr: Yeah I would definitely buy this over the bunnings set if I need it. Just saying that there is an obvious quality difference for the more picky ones.

  • Damn SA is going to be a long trek on the motorcycle to pick one up…

    • dear say a longer trek back after picking one up on a motorcycle!

FYI, grade 430 stainless steel has pretty low corrosion restistance, may eventually get tea staining or other cosmetic marks over its lifetime. Would not suggest in a marine/costal environment.

However, it is a ferritic stainless steels, which means it’s magnetic, may be of benefit to some.

    • +1

Reply at least SS304 or better still SS316. Even they will get tea stains and rust the trick is to wash them off with damn water cloth and wipe dry every once in a while. Anything ferrous in contact will create rust mark the only good thing is u can get it off is rust is out to in and SS3.. grades have self healing properties with their ability to oxidise and create a barrier against staining.

Is damn water the opposite of holy water, or does it work just as well?

        • I think he means dam water, like the one in Townsville

      • I lost brain cells reading that…

A chef would be proud to use these.

    • -1

      A rusty chef….

  • Good price.. too bad I got no garage.:(

  • It's a good price, when costco clear stuff, the price ends in 7. Rumour is it is close to their cost price.

  • -1

most of the time the stainless steel is the cheap 304 stuff that will rust quite readily. even 316 the best stuff will still rust.

No garage now to fit, but in future would. Tempted to purchase and store.

    • It's not quite flat-packed. Lots of storage required … might need something to store your storage in if you dont have a garage.

    • Yeah it comes in a huge crate and you definitely need a truck and 2 men to move it. I think it will set you back for at least another $100 if u wanna move it again later.

      • +1

Not quite a truck and not quite two men.

The box does come apart and each item is between 20kg and 48kg.

        https://i.ibb.co/G24wHyg/file-16.jpg

Myself and a 45kg girl from our unit block unloaded and stored these in the garage.

But yeah, it's not a small item in any terms.

        • got photos of it fitted?

          • @Sabro: Weekend job for me building it all. I haven't actually unboxed it yet :). I'll post photos once its set up (probably sunday afternoon unfortunately).

There are a couple of shots of the units from within Costco in the thread

        • Weird, when I saw it at Epping Costco it came in wooden crate about twice the size. Maybe there are 2 boxes in the crates judging from your photo.

  • Just rang Epping, VIC. He said price was "under $2000" not willing to give exact price. He suggested the quoted price above will be because its the last one/display stock. Dunno how accurate that is. Shame.

  • Seen one on display in nsw….crossroads…. very nice and is $999 but no stock till Wednesday

  • None in Auburn

  • Anyone know if any at Costco Moorabbin

  • 1K for steel? Must be some max steel

  • I want this so bad.
