Oporto Chips are probably the best chips around (but normally most expensive). Not sure how big the "promotional serve size" is but hey it's only $1!

      Gross. I've bought meals from oporto broadway before. This store is quite popular for convenient location. I'm convince the neighbour restaurants have similar issue but not been caught

        It's been this way for years. Lived on Broadway. Every night I went past there after close (was open til 12pm most nights), you could see them scurrying around in there.

    Couldn't imagine how any 1 person would want more than 2 serves of chips. Unless each serve is incredibly small.

    Oporto is on struggle street, I know from good sources the owners were trying to flog it off onto the ASX but got no interest

    Bondi burgers were amazing a few years back. Today they're becoming bang average.

      They used to be amazing.

      I used to drive from North shore to Newtown to get them.. like over 10 years ago.

      The cheese, chicken, bread and lettuce are all different.

      It literally used to be favourite thing to eat period.. it's not even in my top 10 burgers anymore.. basically, it's mass produced shit made to a profit target

      Even without a good source you can tell they are struggling looking at how many promotions they currently have compared to other fast food chains like Maccas, KFC, Nandos etc

      A chunk of the market has now been taken over by more premium American/burger joints like Burger Project, 8Bit, Ze Pickle, Chur Burger etc that’s why you have Maccas currently having all these promotions to keep customers coming. Hopefully Oporto gets through this to keep their customers coming!

      I usually find KFC chips just that little bit undercooked or soggy but the seasoning is good. Oporto chips are usually cooked perfectly and fresh. I don't know where my nearest Red Rooster is lol

      I'm not sure I've had Red Rooster chips..

      But KFC is very hit and miss.
      Hungry Jack's thick cut chips are also heaps good ($1 chips!) but Oporto is better than theirs.

    Their chips used to be decent when they were served in paper bag and not a tiny cup. The meals have gone up a couple dollars as well along with the downsize so I probably only go there once or twice a year. Their chips are way too oily now as well
