AFAIK compared to the Boom 2, the Boom 3 has longer bluetooth range, is more durable and doesn't have a 3.5mm aux-in port. The Boom 3 was recently $110.40 Delivered minus $5.52 cashrewards so it might be worth waiting for a similar deal on the Boom 3 if you don't need a aux-in port.
