    Reasons not to buy:

    1. No NFC. I just can't grasp when we're heading toward such an NFC driven market that you'd buy into a phone without NFC in 2019.
    2. No B28 (before everyone here yells it from the heavens)
    3. Chinese ROM
    4. Chinese branding "China mobile 4G LTE"

chinese branding isn’t an issue as you can’t see it once it’s in a case , and who really cares.

chinese rom you can reflashmthough it is a pain if you don’t have a PC and are into geekdom.

nut no nfc that is crazy, in melon now they use it for travel in grams trains and buses if you don’t want to use a plas58+ myki.
electronic payments …nfc…..no i don’t want to carry an nfc ring or nfc case …

band 28 is where the big investments are in coverage for optus and telstra , especially regional.

Did you just have a stroke?

        • not a stroke, just getting tired of crap chinese phones being listed on ozbargain that have less features than what you get at coles, woolies or jb when on special …..

use to buy xiaomi phones ….now most phones are 1080p and full featured and have nfc and band 28 ….

nfc not an issue ….every one at my work pays for morning coffees via nfc now.

      • Chill out man, it's only a phone and not life or death, but rather only 1st. World problems.

i used to buy xiaomi s for my 11 year old …if lost or broken not an issue as they are cheap but even he now wants a full featured phone.

Not everyone cares about B28 or NFC, I can do fine without them.

Chinese ROM is an issue if you can't/don't want to flash. Better to get Global Version in that case.

Redmi is a budget line and offers very good value & specs - and it does very well, you can't have everything at this price point.
