Everki Flight Checkpoint Friendly Laptop Backpack $59 + Postage @ Harris Technology

100

Just got this in my email. Looks like a fairly good bag. $82 at office works. This is the cheapest I have seen for this one.

Delivery to my post code is quoted around $13. Pity they closed their physical shops, there used to be one not too far away from me.

I have this bag it's fantastic well padded heaps of pockets.

Just don't be buying it for the "laptop checkpoint ready" thing the airport still makes you take it out its stupid.

$73 with postage to Brisbane. Okay if you desperately need one but not really worth the impulse buy.

  • I have this bag for a few years when dicksmith got it on sale. As subw00fer, the checkpoint thing is useless. I used it for travel, it is good to pad the laptop or pad inside together with a few documents. But other than that, it is not too good if you are thinking using it as a daypack. It is a bit on the heavy side even without any loading. And not much room inside for packing extra stuffs, e.g. even pocket for water bottle.

    • So the room inside is not as big as it seems to be?
Was considering getting it to replace my Lowpro Compuday pack and was thinking that I can put the camera (with an insert) in the middle compartment or my ATM machine box in there. I cant find anything anywhere close to the good old compuday pack these days.

      • I use it as a daily backpack and it fits everything I need comfortably. The laptop sleeve is quite well padded, heaps of different sized sections all through the bag, and is comfortable to carry.
The small side pockets can accommodate drinkbottles as there is an elastic loop to hold it in place.

      • Definitely it will NOT fit a DSLR in there. As the checkpoint thing actually took up the internal area which makes it looks roomy but however, the separators cannot be used to store bulky things.

        • Thanks

@Ahyao17: I can fit my Pentax K-r in the main section in the middle. It's a smaller DSLR but it fits

              @DeepHorizon: Thanks
I have a Canon 6d plus a couple of lens
But I guess it wont fit my ATM machine which i keep in original box (dont want to take it out cos I will lose it somewhere)

        • Why are you getting negged for real world experiences? I have the 14" version (fits my 15.6" laptop) and agree with everything you've written about it. However I reckon you can fit a DSLR in it and maybe 1 lens. I wouldn't though and just take my camera bag with me on travels. I don't use this bag anymore anyway, the free laptop bag I got from a Sony promotion is heaps good and roomier. I just gotta fix one of the shoulder straps as it's been chewed by my buns -_-

This Backpack seems to have too many little pockets and very little everyday storage for travelling to make it usefull.

  • Will it take a 17.x inch laptop?

    • one review I watched said it would.

Great backpack, been using the same one for about 8 years and only now do I need a new one.

Joined their mailing list by submitting my email on a popup screen and within minutes I received a $10 discount code. Purchased one for $62.01 delivered (NSW).. the discount helped offset the delivery cost.

I got this for $25 from Auspost in 2013, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/115333, while its ok for everyday commuting, its not much use as carry on flight luggage as its too heavy, and every airport I have been to (several) make you pull out your laptop anyway.
