Just got a word from Lenovo who wishes to make this promotion known ASAP :) Do note that THIS DEAL IS NOT LIVE until 30 April. Use coupon code 2DAYSALE to get 10% off discount on ALL ThinkPad laptop computers from Lenovo. That includes the newly released T420/T520, and already heavily discounted ThinkPad Edge.

Personally I don't think the discount works well with T-series — these are recently released, use TSERIESHOTDEAL to get 15% off in AU, and would be cheaper buying from Lenovo US (+ postage and wait). However it gives good discount on ThinkPad Edge and L series, especially Edge where you also get a 500GB portable hard drive (Mother's day promotion). For example,

  • ThinkPad Edge 13, i3-380UM, 2GB memory, 250GB HDD — $566
  • ThinkPad Edge 14, i3-380M, 4GB memory, 500GB HDD — $629
  • ThinkPad Edge 15, i5-480M, 4GB memory, 500GB HDD — $656

Promotion expires on 1 May. Limit 2 per customer. Can't find the promotion details on the website except this banner image they sent to me.

Lenovo? Sounds Chinese. Why would you trust any electronics from China?

    ;)

find me a PC that is made in Aus and I will buy it for you.

    • Thinkpad series are actually from IBM… Lenovo acquired IBM.

everyone know how reliable an IBM laptops are.. commercially built for business..

      • It's all in jest. No need for the neg bombs people. Ozbargain is srs bsns.

  • Has anyone found a decent review on the ThinkPad Edge 13 i3? Or has personal experience?

    • +1

Yeah hoping to get some info about it too, seems to have decent specs (the 4GB model) and comes down to $611.10 with the bonus 500gb portable drive. Though this same model was on sale at shoppingsquare for $601 a few days ago, but the extra $10 seems well worth the bonus drive and the avoiding the headache that is shoppingsquare.

  • In my opinion the $550 Asus listed on here somewhere a bit lower is better value as it has a decent graphics card. Thank you to the OP for sharing.

  • Lenovo website has slightly misleading advertising - on the page with all the Thinkpad models, it specifically states that the Thinkpad Edge is "up to 2nd Gen Intel Core i5 processors".
Had a dig around and there is no option to select a Core i5-2xxx CPU. Only can get i5-480 & 560 CPU, which I understand are first-generation. I thought that the 2nd Gen (Sandy Bridge) should have the option of improved integrated graphics.

Otherwise, it's a good deal to be able to get a Lenovo for under $600 delivered, including the bonus HDD.

  • ships in more than 4 weeks. all of them. ugh do i buy from the US site instead?
