Telstra Prepaid 1GB Bonus Data for New Customers, Every Min $30 Recharge for 3 Months

40

Came across this while reviewing their prepaid offers. It doesn't say which type of prepaid offer you need to recharge to, but I assume it'll exclude the Long Life ones since the recharge credit expires after 30 days.

Add this to Target's current special of the Smart-Touch for $49 when you purchase a $50 recharge, and I think that's a cheap way to get started on Telstra prepaid!

Bonus data offer for customers who activate a new Telstra Pre-Paid mobile service between 27/4/11 and 30/6/11. Bonus data will be applied on each recharge of $30 or more for 3 months from date of activation. Bonus data expires after 30 days, can take up to 48 hours to be applied and can’t be used overseas. $30 recharge credit expires after 30 days.
Our FairPlay Policy applies to all offers (the Excessive Use section of the FairPlay Policy does not apply to the Weekend+ offer). Offers end 30 June 2011 unless withdrawn earlier or extended by Telstra.
Offer benefits expire on the earlier of:
1. the end of the offer benefits expiry period; or
2. the date on which you select another offer.

  • That's all very fine, but I seem to recall the actual amount of data (not counting the "bonus") is incredibly small.

  • +1

Not if you use your credit to purchase data packs.

For example, normally if you recharged with $30 and chose the 'Pre-Paid Cap+' option, you would receive $30 of credit, plus a bonus 400MB of data and $220 of cap+ credit. The original $30 of non-bonus credit can be used to purchase 'Extras' such as a 'Browse Plus Pack', so you could add another 900MB without any additional cost.
