I bought 2 of these charges. One for myself and one for a friend. I have iPhone XR and he has iPhone X. If you use your phone during charge (using map, navigation etc) you will see that battery charge percentage will not increase. It won't reduce but it won't increase as well. So long story short: It doesn't have enough power to charge the phone efficiently.

Of course wireless charges are not as strong as classic way of charging, but the wireless charge I have at home charges my phone within 4-5 hours. I used this product for 12 hours non-stop (long driving and using map on it), battery percentage didn't increase even 1%. The device is connected to USB port on 2.1A cigarette lighter adapter.

Don't shoot the messenger. I am sharing my experience. Hope it helps someone with decision making.

Ohh by the way, "the two clamping arms will automatically open and lock" works perfectly. Like that feature.

    • So long story short: It doesn't have enough power to charge the phone efficiently.

Isn't that dependent on where you have the cable plugged in though?

      • I believe so. that's why I said "The device is connected to USB port on 2.1A cigarette lighter adapter." I don't know if there is more powerful source in the car. I would love to learn that if there is so it solves the issue (I guess)

        • "The device is connected to USB port on 2.1A cigarette lighter adapter."

You can get car adapters with higher amps/voltage. The charger itself supports:

Wireless charging input: 5V/2A, 9V/1.67A (max)

Pretty normal if you're using navigation. I have a fast charger in my car that charges my phone in about 2 hours if the screen is off, but if I am using navigation with a bright screen then it barely goes up either.

As for Base US, i have two of their magnetic holders, one stick on one and one for the air vents and I'm very pleased with them, they hold large phones (galaxy note 8 and mate pro) with no issues, even on bumpy roads with stiff suspension.

      • What's the charge speed like on the magnetic ones? Fast charge?

    • thanks for sharing your experience of this wireless charger we are so glad to hear that like the feature
and also you mentioned that it need sometime to charger it we think you should try another adapter which have a big output

      • Hi, Are you able to advise us what is the best adapter to use with this device? I am using one of the well-known brand's 2.1A cigarette lighter adapter. Seems like it doesn't provide enough power. And other person here mentioned the same experience. So it would be good to know the best adapter to use.

    • Have found this to be the case as well - anything below around 10W will only slow down the discharge rather than charge up.

The only car mount that I have found that actually charged my phone by ~10% within 20 minutes was a 15W car mount similar to this one.
      15W Car mount

      Note:
It also depends on a few other factors:
      - usage of QC3.1 adapter
      - phone has quick charge capability

  • Suitable for: mobile phones with wireless charging function (4.0-6.5inch)

ah, too bad mine is bigger (and longer) than 6.5"

thanks for your question could you please tell us your phone model

I dont think he was talking about his phone…

  • Why are all posts like this one missing Note 9 as a compatible device? I've seen comments that state it's explicitly not supported too…

Perhaps the size of the phone and position of the built in wireless battery receiver causes it to not align with the cradle properly.

    • thank your question the amazon and ebay do the sales at same time

  • does it support android auto?

    • it Can support the android phone that has wireless function

Why is it AU $30.59 for me?

    • you can try it again its 27.53 AUD

  • can you rotate it horizontally?

  • Any reason to get this over this deal $20?

Or this traditional one with no finnicky IR for $26?

    • the air vent mount of this one is much better

though you cant take it out of the holder if power is off (depending if you car provides power to cigarette lighter or not)

  • No it's $30, and it's also user386295

  • my feedback on this product as follows;

    1) i have been using it for three days and I received twice "Temperature Iphone needs to cool down before you can use it" warning!!!
    is this normal??

    2) Charging is way too slow comparing my previous charger.
    this was expected

  • Can the mount type be changed if the vent doesn't fit right?

I don't think this belongs in the description too:
"Fixed position: Car Center Console, windshield, windwindow (NOT FOR AIR VENT)"
